[FIXED] AS-6 Kingfish acting Fishy

Post by Gunner98 »

Testing out a new scenario and have a bunch of Badger G's coming in to silence some Radars. Radar's are active but the results of the first strike (well 2nd but the 1st got chewed up by Eagle's) were less than spectacular!

2:01:47 PM - Contact VAMPIRE #218 has been lost.
2:01:47 PM - Weapon: AS-6 Kingfish B Mod 3 [KSR-5MP, ARM] #1185 airbursted off Radar (AN/FPS-117(V)5 Relocatable) by 20469ft
2:01:46 PM - Contact VAMPIRE #219 has been lost.
2:01:46 PM - Weapon: AS-6 Kingfish B Mod 3 [KSR-5MP, ARM] #1186 has malfunctioned.
2:01:43 PM - Contact VAMPIRE #217 has been lost.
2:01:43 PM - Weapon: AS-6 Kingfish B Mod 3 [KSR-5MP, ARM] #1184 airbursted off Radar (AN/FPS-117(V)5 Relocatable) by 3389ft
2:01:39 PM - Contact VAMPIRE #216 has been lost.
2:01:39 PM - Weapon: AS-6 Kingfish B Mod 3 [KSR-5MP, ARM] #1183 airbursted off Radar (AN/FPS-117(V)5 Relocatable) by 12070ft

The closest hit was a Km away!

Save game attached, Tgt was the radar in SE corner of Iceland, shooters were the 987 Regt Badgers retiring at 8W66N

Another flock of Kingfisher ARMs aimed at Hofn air station. These are older radars so we'll see what happens

I note the 'relocatable' in the title but that's a matter of perspective: http://www.globalsecurity.org/jhtml/jfr ... ps-117.jpg|||

I wonder if the AS-6 could not track that L-Band type of radar and was basically flying to a target point unguided. There was also a case of certain missiles having an attack problem similar to this a few months back with large attack offsets. Could be a resurfacing of that issue too.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!

Gunner can you confirm what build and db you're using?

Using build 521, DB 413 - I think they're the latest available publicly.

Hi guys,

I tested this with up to date stuff and I think there is an issue although not the same. We're looking into it.

On my updated run-through I got this:

2:01:41 PM - Contact VAMPIRE #289 has been lost.
2:01:41 PM - Weapon: AS-6 Kingfish B Mod 3 [KSR-5MP, ARM] #1319 has impacted Radar (AN/FPS-117(V)5 Relocatable)
2:01:40 PM - Contact VAMPIRE #284 has been lost.
2:01:40 PM - Weapon: AS-6 Kingfish B Mod 3 [KSR-5MP, ARM] #1318 has malfunctioned.
2:01:38 PM - Contact VAMPIRE #285 has been lost.
2:01:38 PM - Weapon: AS-6 Kingfish B Mod 3 [KSR-5MP, ARM] #1317 has impacted Radar (AN/MPS-14 HF)
2:01:36 PM - Contact VAMPIRE #288 has been lost.
2:01:36 PM - Weapon: AS-6 Kingfish B Mod 3 [KSR-5MP, ARM] #1316 has impacted Radar (AN/FPS-117(V)5 Relocatable)

So they are now impacting, not air-bursting, and the radar still survives.

Checking this with B564 and it seems to have been resolved. Impacts are happening close enough and the radar is regularly destroyed.
