solitaire 50%.
PBEM 50%.

as time goes on, and assuming PBEM works pretty well, I would expect PBEM to increase and solitaire to decrease.

AI, almost completely -- though I'd play solitaire if you think there'll be no AI.

I will play vrs the AI to learn the mechanics of the UI. Probably once or twice.
I will play a good friend of mine who I played WiF with for 15 years PBEM/Netplay. Probably 5-10 games
I may play random people I meet here in multi-country Netplay. 1-2 games perhaps leading to several.
Solitare? Nah, I can use Vassal for that.
Hotseat? Well, its easier to play over the board, and set the game up

So:

Vrs AI: 10%
PBEM/Netplay, 2 people: 70%
Netplay, 7 people: 20% But could eat into the PBEM/Netplay if it proves to be fun.
Solitare: Never.
Hotseat: Never.

Solitaire - 5% Seems like it would come in handy to try different build strategies. Wouldn't play it for a War though.

Head-to-head (Hotseat) - 5% My group plays our grand strategy game with a LAN setup now. We'll probably do the same with MWiF. On days only 2 can make it, we'll try doing this.

AI Opponent - 20% Try things out.

NetPlay - 70% This is where the fun will be.

PBEM - 0% I have seen your threat explaining how this works, don't think it's for me.

Solitaire: 10% (until such time as the option of split scale is offered in MWiF, then 20%)
Head-to-head: 10%
AI Opponent: 20% (until split scale, then 10%)
NetPlay:50%
PBEM: 10%

Assuming split scale is ever offered, I would use it to explore possibilities inherent in the position over-the-board. Definitely, Netplay is my strong preference for MWiF.

netplay/e-mail 90%. Prefer net-play.
That means 50% / 40% ?
55% / 35 % ?

Statistics need hard data.

PBEM/Netplay, 2 people: 70%
Netplay, 7 people: 20% But could eat into the PBEM/Netplay if it proves to be fun.
So, that's PREM 70% and Netplay 20% ?

At First

Solitaire 5% or less
Hotseat 0%
AI Opponent 70-75%
NetPlay 25% (or zero depending on preferences of my friend who will buy the game)
PBEM 0% (or 25% depending on preferences of my friend who will buy the game)

The total of NetPlay and PBEM should be 25%

After I have had it a while

Solitaire 25%
Hotseat 0%
AI Opponent 25%
NetPlay 25% (guessing)
PBEM 25% (guessing)

The total of NetPlay and PBEM should be 50%

Could you cast one vote only please ?

You answer confuses me. Are we attaching the same meaning to the word Solitaire? Please see my original post describing what I mean by the word Solitaire.

Solitaire - you play both sides and make all decisions.

Head-to-head (Hotseat) - two players use a single computer, with the players taking turns moving their units/making decisions using the same mouse and keyboard.

AI Opponent - the player takes one side and the Artificial Intellengent Opponent plays the other.

NetPlay - 2 to 6 players with each player having his own computer; there are game 'sessions' where all the players log into the game and communicate their decisions using the internet.

PBEM - Play by email for 2 players, with all decisions communicated via email (an option to temporarily switch to NetPlay if they so desire).
Solitaire: 3%
Head-to-head: 0%
AI: 35%
NetPlay: 10%
PBEM (with NetPlay when both are on-line simultaneously): 52%

I am assuming the PBEM method will be something like Cyberboard, not literally sending emails.
