Age of Sail 3 - Matrix made?

Just had a thought - wouldn't it be a good idea if Matrix got together a team to make a third iteration of Age of Sail?
Nothing out there like it right now. Not even on the horizon.
Would sell quite well, I imagine.

There should be naval combats in Empire: Total War

I would like to see that too. I see Crown of Glory EE will have a pretty detailed naval combat, but nothing stand alone.

I saw some screen shots from Colozination the other day with ships and it reminded me of the old SSI game Broadsides for some reason. I think that was the second game I had for the Apple IIe.

Hopefully someday there will be another tall ships battle game.

The detailed naval combat in the upcoming Crown of Glory: Emperor's Edition is quite nice.

Yes, I'm looking forwardto the naval combat in CoG:EE too.
It was the comments on and screenshots of the naval combat in CoG:EE in the recent Wargamer preview that got me thinking about the old Age of Sail games and that somebody ought to do a remake/update.
