Minor bug in 1.01 patch:

Just did an install of the 1.01 patch - found a minor bug :
The "[ProductVersion]" entry in the serialreg.txt file
still says "Version=1.00" instead of "Version=1.01"

(This is a duplicate posting; sorry; didn't notice the special thread)

France unconditionally surrenders to France, Spain

Post by Grognot »

Prior to 1.01 beta
------------------
Spain vs all-AIs.
Non-termination during French diplomatic phase.

Afer 1.01 beta
--------------
France unconditionally surrenders to France and Spain, costing him an extra fleet (one of the conditions that France selected against itself) and gaining him +5 PP (for accepting an unconditional surrender -- no extra -8 PP because it's simultaneous).

Attachment is 'before' -- that is, start of diplomatic phase. Hit 'end phase'...

RE: AI PATH ISSUE

Post by Grognot »

In the same game I posted regarding France surrendering to itself, there's also some strange inability to reinforce certain garrisons -- for instance, can't put any more Swedish factors into Gothenburg, even though that should have space for four more (6/10).

I am getting this in SEVERAL different spots.  If I start a NEW garrison; things work; it
seems to apply more to pre-patch garrisons.

Ok found the garrisson bug when setting up Turkey

To recreate: place a garrisson fill it with some inf, change focus to something else (to be sure place another unit or so) go back to the garrisson and try to fill it up. In my example i filled constantinopel with 10 factors, then placed another garrison in athens which i removed went back to constantinopel and tried to fill the garrisson with the rest of my inf. I could now fill it with 6 inf then it refuses to take any more. Its enough to right click on the map and go back to the garrisson to get same result.

The bug seems to be reproducible.

First time to place the garrisson you seem to be able to fill it to it's maximum or alternativly with as many inf as is available.

Post by ndrose »

Although I haven't downloaded the patch yet, I haven't seen this mentioned before, so I'm assuming it's not already fixed.

Danzig is not getting included in the creation of Poland. It's marked with a P on the map, and should be available, but it isn't. If you create Poland by selecting another province, Danzig just gets left out. If you try to create it by selecting Danzig, it says you can't create that kingdom.

Went back and looked at savefiles with Poland, and none seem to include Danzig, no matter whether the owner was Prussia, Russia, Austria or France. If it's Prussia, Danzig remains a home province; otherwise it remains a ceded province.

OK, it's a small point, since Danzig isn't worth anything--but hey, it's another place to garrison those 4.0 morale troops.

(see also gwheelock's post at tm.asp?m=1680296 )

Is Austria going spontaneously, inexplicably bankrupt for debt payments that shouldn't actually be happening?

In the attached saved game (started in 1.00, only loaded in 1.01 with the second French surrender to Spain), Austria allegedly goes bankrupt for debt in March, June and September 1813 economic phases. It has not sued anyone for peace between March and September. Unless it's possible to incur a massive debt that carries over across economic phases, or it's somehow getting formal debt aside from reparations, I don't see how this could be happening.

(Bankruptcy for unit maintenance, perhaps... but formal debt? I mention gwheelock's post, because he's showing the same slightly oddly formatted message).

Odd. I just started a non-game (no actions) in 1.01 beta, hotseat, full seven, ran 'til March -- nothing weird in that economic phase. Maybe a compatibility issue with 1.0?

The 'accept informal peace' checkbox is automatically being cleared, it seems -- unlike other boxes on that screen, where you can set what you'd accept even if you're not at war, that box seems to be cleared as soon as you leave the 'diplomatic reaction' setup.

(tested in a purely 1.01-beta game with no actions)

Post by Grognot »

A slightly different path (still from the same started-in-1.00 game) --

The new-and-improved Spanish Armada (Portugese, Swedish, Danish, Dutch, Neapolitan fleets are all mine, and quite a few of them are involved here) is blockading London. The British fleet is entirely there (checked to verify that they're not weirdly in an adjacent port). Spanish troops have just defeated the British garrison and replaced it with one of their own.

So why isn't there a naval battle between the Spanish and the British, and scuttling of the British fleet due to inability to evacuate?

(Update: Evacuation and naval battle takes place in the Diplomacy phase?!)

Unable to add reinforcements to garrison

Post by delatbabel »

ORIGINAL: Grognot

In the same game I posted regarding France surrendering to itself, there's also some strange inability to reinforce certain garrisons -- for instance, can't put any more Swedish factors into Gothenburg, even though that should have space for four more (6/10).

I can verify this.

In the attached save game it is the Austrian reinforcement phase. Austria is unable to reinforce the garrisons in Vienna or Salzburg despite the fact that Vienna is 11/20 and Salzburg is 12/15. If you let the game play on a few more turns then you'll have reinforcements appearing in Munster, Liege and Luxemburg, none of which can be added to the existing garrison.

RE: Reporting Bugs (as of v.1.01)

This is happening to me as well, as Austria, in 1807. A bit annoying to be losing PPs for going bankrupt when I have over $80 in the bank and not currently surrendered to anyone. I have accepted two informal peaces, that is all.

Grognot and gwheelock,

I have this one down as Not Yet Confirmed (#102-E2), as it may very well be a version conflict that would no longer exist when starting new games using 1.01. Thanks.
