For everybody, the direct FTP link to install the 1.00.071 hotfix is the following:

May be useful if the Check for Updates option does not work.

That is an old Matrix problem.

I never use the updater, I go to MyPage section and download my patches from there

Get the manual update if the installer isn't working.
If the installer has issues very likely you have two security programs running. Whenever I see a slowdown on a friends PC I noticed they have McAfee installed. I remove it and let Defender do the work. Runs better every time.
