Slow cursor with USB mouse....plz help !

Post by PHH »

Hi !

I have just bought me an USB mouse, but when i use it in RFTS there
is a "delay", in game, when i move it fast. If i change to my old PS2 mouse there is no problem "delay"!

Anyone have a working solution for USB 2.0 mouses??
(just skip all the "try to increase the mouse speed under mouse properties solutions. I've tried that.. [:D].)

Hope u can help me!

Best Wishes

Peter

I also am using a USB mouse. Mine is a Logitech G5. It skips all over in the game, stutters, pauses, and is so bad that I really can't play the game. I gave up. I have tried every possible setting other than using a different mouse which I am NOT going to do. This is the only program I have ever had any trouble with this mouse in.

Sorry, no suggestions for you. Just another player having mouse troubles in a new gme.

I see the original post is for the older version of RFTS. I am referring to the 1.41 March-4-06 release!

Larry,

There was no 2006 release for this title, v1.41 is from 2005. My USB 2.0 mouse works fine with RFTS, but I will try to duplicate this on other systems and see if I can find a work-around.

Have the same issue with a USB mouse. Mine is a logictech G7.

Does this mean that I have to somehow find a PS2 mouse?

Well,  looks like theres mouse problems in other areas, with this vista pc got, while it installed, the cursor would hardly move, using a
mouse that is wireless not a usb.

I'd  suspect since underlying game while spiffed up is of DOS roots it may use DOS mouse
driver?  Or Such and far newer USB and wireless mouses may run with a driver that doesn't interface with game well.

Noise? What Noise? It's sooooo quiet and Peaceful!

I just purchased another SSG game Carriers at War and I am having problems also.  Guess what it is a USB Logitech mouse.  Not good.

I posted this in the tech support subforum, but just in case you guys missed it.
Make sure to change the poll rate of your mouse (from the mouse driver/software you have from the manufacturer of the mouse) to 125hz. This solved the problem for me in this game and in another game (not a Matrix title).
