Tossing up between this and CM2 for multiplayer

I'm looking for a tactical game to play in real-time with a friend online and I'm tossing up between this and CM2. What's the current state of this game, as I have some misgivings (huge fan of original CC series especially ABTF), and in particular how is multiplayer?
