What resolution are you all playing at?

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

What resolution are you all playing at?

Post by MarkShot »

Just curious ...

Myself, I am trying to decide between 1600x1200 (LCD native 21.3") or 1024x768 (interpolated).

At 1600x1200, I have to wear glasses and the text is still small to me. At 1024x768, without glasses everything is easy to read and the interpolation doesn't look too bad.

Most of my previous play (RDOA, HTTR, and COTA) had been on a 20" CRT at 1024x768. Although I must say being able to take in almost 300% more map area at higher resolution is very compelling. Hmm ...

I have a 24" monitor and I run at its native 1920x1080 resolution. It's 16:9 aspect ratio which works well for console games and such too. I'm glad that it's supported in BFTB as it's not the most common 16:10 widescreen. On the 24" screen I find the resolution readable but on my laptop with 15" the same resolution is pain. So far the interpolation was never so awful to look at that I couldn't use it at all.

My monitor has a 1920x1200 resolution, but i play the game at 1680x1050. This way it's the
same 16:10 ratio and the fonts are readable [;)]

Desktop resolution of 1680 x 1050 on a 22" monitor. Text is small, but clear and readable.

Same here, and it's fine.

However, I suspect that running the game at higher-resolutions on a lot of laptops is recipe for a severe case of eye-strain.[X(]

Have you tried 800x600? That will do away with the interpolation. Of course, you probably won't see a whole lot of map, either.

I play CotA at 1440x900 16:10. Perfect. Thast my max resolution anyway. Wish I'd gone for a 22inch instead of a 19 now.

1280x800 on my MacBook. Haven't played it on my desktop computer yet. I'm getting a bigger monitor for it soon though, so we'll see how I will go in terms of resolution.

1680 * 1050 on a 15.4" MacBook Pro. A bit on the small side but it's working ok.

PoE,

BFTB does not support anything less than 1024x768. In fact, I think HTTR was the last game to support that resolution (800x600).

I am playing at 1600x1200 for now. As the enemy is approaching, all of a sudden, everything is beginning to look a whole lot bigger! :)

1024x768 would also be fine for me, but I thought I would try it this way first.

We do not suport 800 x 600 because the sidebar needs a min of 768.

1280 x 768 (LCD 22,22")

This way I can read well and get a pretty good area of play.

I use 1920x1200 on my 30'' monitor. it can support 2560x1600, but when the game run under 2560x1600, the graphic is odd. so I have to stay the lower resolution. I don't have problem smaller icons or letters, at 40 years of age, my eyes is still pretty good[8D]. the patch didn't fix the problem. I wish the high resolution issue can be solved. and in the future, supports multiple monitors.
