Hi, what exactly does the night changes (except obviously for visual spotting) ?
I'm mostly talking about ASW, ASuW patrols. But also AAW.
Would appreciate your views on this.
Thanks

Decreased visual spotting is the main one, as you already surmised. Two other impacts that come to mind are:

-certain loadouts are only quick turnaround capable in daytime
-the lowest possible AGL altitude that aircraft can fly increases (also affected by crew proficiency)

The database also specifies under what day/night and weather conditions loadouts are designed to operate in. For now, this is purely cosmetic and does not actually impose any operational limitations on your forces, although you could of course respect them anyway if you so choose (given that the database side of things appears to have been set up for this, I'm not sure why Warfaresims hasn't implemented the "Night and Weather Affect Air Sorties" option that appears in the Scenario Features Menu. But that's a question for another time).

In addition to that already mentioned in certain cases the lower bounding on the allowed altitude (baring certain other flags on the unit or gear) depending on aircraft subtype. There is long thread around here somewhere (I think in tech support about the nitty gritty details when it comes altitude).
