Defeat the Axis Menace! Epic battles across massive maps are now rolling onto hard drives everywhere!

Matrix Games and GFI (www.gfi.su) are thrilled to announce that Officers – The Matrix Edition is now available for purchase!

Officers – The Matrix Edition puts you in command of the Allied forces in the largest conflict of our time. Take control of the US and British armies in order to strike back and defeat the Axis menace on the Western front of Europe. With over 1500 units on maps up to 10 square miles, Officers is the first WWII real time strategy game to let you fight on a truly massive scale. Historical battles like Operation Overlord, Millennium, and Cobra will put your tactical skills to the test using combined forces from infantry and engineers to tanks, artillery and bombers.  Recommended for all gamers, the fun historical gameplay of Officers – The Matrix Edition will bring a smile to new strategy gamers and veteran wargamers alike.

Gamers can now enjoy an enhanced Officers experience with a game The Wargamer acclaims as “massive real time strategy action and huge battles.” The various improvements and changes to the game that are only available with The Matrix Edition include:

  • Better campaign difficulty balance especially on “Easy” and “Normal”
  • An improved and expanded manual
  • Improvements to unit pathfinding for both friendly and enemy AI
  • Many map tweaks and changes which fix problems with units drowning themselves when ordered to cross a river or other body of water
  • A number of additional bug and stability fixes

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said “Our enhanced release of Officers lets you experience the true scale of World War II with tons of units and massive maps.  There’s a huge amount of gameplay here and the historical setting makes for a great strategy game and an enjoyable experience.  Watching battles of this scale unfold with fantastic graphics and an intuitive interface makes for a unique, and fun, experience.”

Blazing speed and blunt force will only secure victory if you extend your supply lines and capture enemy weaponry and warehouses. Take the high ground and use terrain to your advantage with fully realistic physics and ballistics – only sound tactical maneuver will keep your men alive!

Features include:

  • Lead the Allied forces across gigantic battlegrounds up to 10 square miles
  • Control over 50 authentic infantry, armor, artillery and aircraft units
  • Experience the most massive battles of World War II with up to 1500 units at once
  • Use real tactics with terrain and combined forces with authentic vehicle and infantry characteristics
  • Destroy nearly anything, anywhere with advanced physics and a fully interactive environment
  • Keep your supply lines guarded and capture enemy resources and weapons

Armored Brigade - The Art of Making Maps

Monday, February 12, 2018

Hello, my name is Dmitriy Maksimov and I am creating maps and an interface for the game Armored Brigade.
For the past 10 years I have professionally practiced graphic design, illustrations and visualizations in quite a variety of ways, but mostly in the digital sphere.
The task for drawing maps seemed to me extremely interesting and curious, because it affects a huge layer of information design, which is very important and interesting in a wargame.

The genre of strategy has always been a complex genre, but the wargames, I think, bring this genre to the highest level of uniqueness and exactingness.

Field of Glory II Legions Triumphant has been announced!

Friday, February 9, 2018

After the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BC, the Roman Republic found itself in mortal danger. The infighting that followed eventually saw the end of the Republic and the birth of the Principate, with Octavianus Augustus sole ruler of the newly-established Roman Empire.

Victory after victory, the Empire slowly expanded, reaching its maximum extent in 117 AD. But dominance couldn't be held forever. Internal and external threats undermined stability in the centuries that followed. To ease administration, the empire was eventually divided into western and eastern halves, each with its own emperor. Under the constant pressure of large Germanic confederations, the western half eventually collapsed, and in 476 AD the last western emperor was deposed.
