Type: News

Anticipation has been reaching new heights with the approaching release of War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition.  This sequel to War in the Pacific will require ownership of the original and is aimed at the veteran wargamers who have been enjoying War in the Pacific and asking for more.  Among the many things fans are looking forward to is the full color 330 page printed manual that will be included in the first official "Collector's Edition" release here at Matrix Games.  This is the largest, most comprehensive manual we've released and the first one of this size to be printed in full color.  As a special preview for those who are already familiar with War in the Pacific and as thanks for their patience during the development process, we are making available a series of excerpts from the final manual - in total a whopping 75 pages of new information (still just a fraction of the actual manual though!).

We hope this helps fans of War in the Pacific prepare for the new features and changes in Admiral's Edition and also makes the waiting a bit easier.

Please note that the preview manual has been compressed to make the download size manageable, with the unfortunate result that some of the screenshots look a bit blurry.  The screenshots in the actual PDF manual and the printed manual are crisp and clear.

Fast forward to today, and Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe has been expanded into a modifiable hexagonal game engine allowing map sizes of up to 512x512 or 262,144 hexes!
