Type: Update

A new update roars towards hard drives everywhere like a shot from a Tiger tank

Matrix Games and VR Designs (www.advancedtactics.org) are proud to announce that a major new v1.10L update is now available for the critically acclaimed turn-based strategy game, Advanced Tactics: World War II.

This latest update brings scores of changes, new scenarios, and improvements. Specifically, it includes two fantastic new user-made scenarios from veteran scenario designer Tom Weber, plenty of new powerful scenario design options, a tuned-up AI that does a better job with air, naval and production strategy and finally some great new usability features like automated upgrades and an automatic replay have been added.  These changes together represent a major step forward in virtually all areas of the game.  We highly recommend all players upgrade to v1.10L immediately!

David Heath, Director of Operations at Matrix Games, said of the latest update, “The two new global scenarios included in this latest update are a great addition to the tons of changes and improvements and make great use of the new “world-looping” feature that allows maps to wrap around the entire globe.  Scenarios like these really show off the flexibility of the Advanced Tactics engine.”

Victor Reijkersz, Developer of Advanced Tactics, added “A lot of work and dedication from the entire VR Designs team combined with good feedback from the community has gone into creating this update.  We really feel that this latest version of Advanced Tactics plays better than ever and we’re confident gamers will agree too.”

Advanced Tactics is a versatile turn-based strategy system that gives gamers the chance to wage almost any battle in any time period. The first module in this series is Advanced Tactics: World War II, which allows gamers to command a mighty army and storm across Europe. Complete with a streamlined interface and an addicting style of gameplay, Advanced Tactics offers a unique and infinitely replayable experience for any strategy fan.

Depending on the scenario, you can decide what your towns should produce, which HQs receive reinforcements, how your chain of command is formed, what sort of troop and equipment mix you put in each unit, if you use air, land, or sea strategies or maybe even call in the paratroopers – the possibilities are endless! Almost any type of strategy or tactic can be used effectively in Advanced Tactics. Perhaps the most powerful feature in Advanced Tactics is the ability to generate random maps and scenarios, giving the player endless hours of strategic fun without having to repeat a single battle or campaign!

Get more information on Advanced Tactics: World War II from its official Matrix Games webpage. This latest update will bring the version of the game up to v1.10L and is comprehensive.

To End All Wars and Commander: The Great War 50% Discounted!

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

The 1918 Kaiserschlacht (or Spring Offensive) was the last attempt by the German High Command to make a breakthrough in the Western Front.

On the 21st  of March 1918, a series of attacks along the front line held by the British Fifth and Third Army began. Strengthened by divisions coming from the Eastern Front and with an extended use of troops trained in infiltration and assault tactics (Stormtroopers), the Germans were able to achieve the largest territory advance of the war.

However, this all-out offensive didn’t gain a decisive victory. The Germans lost irreplaceable veteran troops and the conquest of the new territories resulted in hard to defend positions with a supply line that was stretched too far.
