New Version 6 Improves Editor Interface and adds New Features!

Matrix Games together with 2by3 Games (www.2by3games.com) and Michel Wood are pleased to deliver a new editor update for the popular wargame War In The Pacific.   This update is now available from the Matrix Games public FTP and the game updates section of the Matrix Games website.

The version 6 Update adds the Features that improve the editor and add new features like “Update All Ship Weapons” Allowing you to easily modify weapons of an entire class of ships.  Want to do the same with Aircraft?  The updated editor allows the one click modification of all group weapons.  This database editor update is a must for all War In The Pacific fans who wish to create or update their mods.

 

War in the Pacific: The Struggle Against Japan 1941-1945™” is a completely new strategy game, based on the award winning “Uncommon Valor” game engine. The scale is 60 miles per hex and losses are individual vehicles, aircraft, guns and squads. Since half the planet Earth is covered by the titanic Pacific struggle, the game is massive in scope, covering thousands of ships tens of thousands of aircraft. There are 15 campaigns included with the game, which can be played against the computer opponent, hot seat, by secure email. War in the Pacific now gives you the chance to fight the entire war your way on every level.

TOAW IV Scenario Highlight: Operation Neva - Leningrad 1944

On January 14th, 1944, Leningrad Front and Volkhov Front launched a combined offensive against the German 18th Army still standing at the outskirts of Leningrad. The plan was to break through to Luga from north and East and encircle the army, before continuing the attack to the Panther Line still under construction and break into the Baltic.

The Germans had in the previous months severely weakened the army by transferring many divisions south and was planning a withdrawal to shorten the front line. The offensive started before they could implement this plan 'Blau'.

Welcome to the first Field of Glory: Empires developer diary! We felt we ought to start off with a summary of what the game is, and what you can expect. We will be following on with detailed explanations in subsequent diaries.

FoG: Empires is a strategy game set in the Ancient World roughly from the fall of Alexander the Great’s empire. It seeks to provide strategic empire management together with the AGEOD staple of turn-based play and historical detail.  We believe we have unique features to deliver these, while also remaining familiar and easy to understand for the fans of the genre.

Speaking of the features themselves, we certainly have plenty of them in Empires, closely interconnected with one another as it should be in a grand strategy game.
