War is coming on August 25th

After the original announcement of the game at Home of Wargamers, we are now pleased to be able to share with you that the war To End All Wars will be upon us on the 25th of August. This highly detailed World War One strategy game will allow you to shape the events of the Great War, leading your alliance to victory through politics, diplomacy, technological innovation, economic mobilization and of course warfare, making use of the excellent Ageod combat model we have come to know and love. The AGE engine has also been specifically altered to recreate this bloody conflict, making it the most detailed World War 1 simulation to date.

Will you try and hold of the invasion of the Central Powers, or will you make a final push into the defensive lines of the Entente, trying to reach Paris in the final Kaiserschlacht? The choice is yours in Ageod’s to End All Wars!

As war is coming closer, it is time to make some serious preparations. That is why, starting today we are giving you the honor and privilege to sign up for our Beta squad, an elite group of highly trained professionals. These troops will prepare the frontline before the war breaks out and are tasked with clearing any obstruction that might stand in the way of total victory! You must sign up with all haste, for people are already lining up at the recruiting stations, eager to perform their duty.

Note: When signing up for the beta, in the ‘About Yourself’ field, please write your AGEOD forums nickname, as it is needed to give you access to the Ageod beta forums.

Sign up for the beta at a recruiting station near you.

Field of Glory 2 Developers Diary - A.I.

Tuesday, July 18, 2017

The AI for Field of Glory II has been developed by building on the knowledge gained from developing the generally praised AI for Pike and Shot and Sengoku Jidai.

Deployment
For non-preset scenarios, it is important that the AI can deploy its army in a sensible formation, taking account of the prevailing terrain.
Generally speaking, most ancient armies would deploy with an infantry centre in one or more lines. (Usually three for Romans, usually only one for Hellenistic armies). They would then have cavalry on both wings and perhaps in reserve, plus light troops both in the centre and on the wings.

Gettysburg: The Tide Turns is out!

Thursday, July 13, 2017

The Battle of Gettysburg, fought between the Army of the Potomac and the Army of Northern Virginia, is considered by many the turning point of the American Civil War.

Lasted three days, from July 1st to July 3rd, 1863, the battle saw many epic and tragic moments, culminating in the famous Pickett's Charge, the desperate frontal assault of the confederates against the unionist defensive lines at Cemetery Ridge.

Today, Shenandoah and Slitherine are very proud to release Gettysburg: The Tide Turns, the brilliant hex-based wargame that will make you relive all the hard tactical choices the Confederates and the Unionists had to take during these long and crucial days of fierce fighting.
