As the Home of Wargamers is drawing closer, we thought it would be the right time to give you another update on what will take place. Last week we announced the basic setup for the presentations, as well as an indication of some of the games that will be presented and we will be announcing more of these in the near future. Today we would like to focus more on the location and the various events that will be going on around the presentations.

Firstly we would like to point out that the Home of Wargamers event is a great chance to have a Gamers Dream holiday in the magnificent medieval Costello de Pavone, Canavese. The Castello has been besieged four times throughout its history, but has never once been taken! However we are taking over the entire Castello for the 3 days of the event!!  The castle has been perfectly maintained and restored and the rooms are outfitted with all the luxuries that you could wish for, without losing any of their original medieval charm. This includes the main presentation areas, as well as the dining halls and of course your guest ‘billets’.

We will start the event on the first day with a drinks reception in the authentic 14th century court yard (if weather allows), after which we gather for a special event, as yet to be disclosed! In the evening we will assemble in the truly amazing Knights Hall, where a Medieval Banquet will be served.

On the second day, after a knightly breakfast, we will present a varied assortment of soon to be released games (more details will follow soon!) and you will be free to engage directly with the developers and the team.  In the evening you are invited to dine in King Arduin’s Hall (Let me google him for you) where the Grand Gala Dinner will take place.

On the third and final day, we will end the event with a tournament, of our upcoming title Battle Academy 2. Where you will have the chance to match yourself against the Matrix/Slitherine team, our developers and of course the journalists in a scenario specifically designed for the Home of Wargamers event, where you can compete for several BIG prizes, and of course the bragging rights.

The game presentations will form the core of the Home of Wargamers event, but the location and our schedule of events will make this a unique and memorable occasion, so don’t forget to bring your camera.

The whole concept of brining a deep PC strategy game is not easy to translate into practice. Ease-of-use and accessibility are key to the console players to enjoy games, but we made it!

    It’s a game of 3D tactical space battles where players take part in the Second Contact War in a campaign with a branching story and over 60 missions. The game also allows to create own scenarios in skirmish mode battles. Orders are given during pause times of a perfectly balanced WEGO system, then players watch the results unfold in intriguing pausable real-time. There’s a pretty extensive arsenal of crew abilities and assault class ships, making the game extremely varied.

    Wars of Succession reveals its main art and opens for Beta!

    Developers from Ageod are very proud to reveal today the main art for their new project, Wars of Succession!

    The game will allow you to take the lead of different Great Powers during the turmoil of two greatest wars of the early XVIII° century. The War of Spanish Succession (1701-1713) pitting the French & Spanish Bourbons monarchs against the Grand Alliance built by Austrian Habsburg, Britain and the United Provinces, andthe Great Northern War (1700-1721), between Sweden and Russia (and her allies), most of which focused around the succession of Poland.

    In 2002, the original Strategic Command game was a relatively simple construct. With a limited rule set and a much smaller 62x37 map of approximately 2300 hexes, the requirements for the AI were not necessarily trivial, but in general terms, they were straightforward.

    Fast forward to today, and Strategic Command WWII: War in Europe has been expanded into a modifiable hexagonal game engine allowing map sizes of up to 512x512 or 262,144 hexes!
