Posted: Tuesday, September 24, 2013 by Filippo Chianetta

Type: Press Release

Like a fast approaching object on a radar console, the release of Command has been coming closer and closer over the past few weeks. We now have visual contact! Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations is available now!

Thanks to the dedication and skill of Warfare Sims (www.warfaresims.com), this highly anticipated wargame and simulation of modern air and naval warfare is finally ready, and to set takes its place as the new standard in its genre.

THE CLASSIC CLASHES OF HISTORY. THE HEADLINES OF TODAY. THE BATTLES OF TOMORROW.

Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations puts the player in charge of air and naval operations in a period stretching from post-WW2 all the way to the modern day and even the near future at the tactical and operation scale at sea, on land and in the air. The sheer variety of equipment and missions is staggering and you can refight the air war between Iran and Iraq, retake the Falklands, hunt down rogue nukes in Pakistan and much, much more.

You will be amazed by the accuracy of the 3D reproduction of the entire earth globe and even more impressed by the level of control you can have in the management of the game.

Realism is the keyword: terrain, weather conditions, sensors, weapons, vessels, airplanes and submarine characteristics, the AI reactions and technology are modeled exactly on real life weapons systems.
On top of this, the easy to use scenario editor will let you create your own battle or edit an existing one. With Command the possibilities are endless.

Field of Glory 2 Developers Diary - A.I.

Tuesday, July 18, 2017

The AI for Field of Glory II has been developed by building on the knowledge gained from developing the generally praised AI for Pike and Shot and Sengoku Jidai.

Deployment
For non-preset scenarios, it is important that the AI can deploy its army in a sensible formation, taking account of the prevailing terrain.
Generally speaking, most ancient armies would deploy with an infantry centre in one or more lines. (Usually three for Romans, usually only one for Hellenistic armies). They would then have cavalry on both wings and perhaps in reserve, plus light troops both in the centre and on the wings.

Gettysburg: The Tide Turns is out!

Thursday, July 13, 2017

The Battle of Gettysburg, fought between the Army of the Potomac and the Army of Northern Virginia, is considered by many the turning point of the American Civil War.

Lasted three days, from July 1st to July 3rd, 1863, the battle saw many epic and tragic moments, culminating in the famous Pickett's Charge, the desperate frontal assault of the confederates against the unionist defensive lines at Cemetery Ridge.

Today, Shenandoah and Slitherine are very proud to release Gettysburg: The Tide Turns, the brilliant hex-based wargame that will make you relive all the hard tactical choices the Confederates and the Unionists had to take during these long and crucial days of fierce fighting.
