Posted: Tuesday, July 9, 2013 by Filippo Chianetta

Type: Press Release

The Annual Press Conference at Historicon is getting closer and closer. We wanted to give you a new sneak peek at the topics and games involved at our 2013 event.

Another of the key franchises to be part of the event will be Command Modern Air/Naval Operations! Mike Mykytyn of Warfare Sims (www.warfaresims.com) will discuss the development of the game and its features.

Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations models modern air and naval operations in extreme detail. It covers the period stretching from post-WW2 all the way to the modern day and even the near future at the tactical and operation scale. Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations aims to set a new benchmark for depth and realism in a wargame, with its careful treatment of aircraft, surface ships, and submarines, satellite technology, covering many historic and hypothetical conflicts. It also comes complete with an integrated scenario editor.

This great game is at the point where it now needs a dedicated group of Beta Testers! If you are interested in this game, visit the official Matrix Games Beta Tester Page and sign in!

Come visit us at Historicon at booth 401 to get more information about this impressive game.

HISTORICON 2013 will take place July 18 to 21 in Fredericksburg, Virginia, USA

Generally speaking, most ancient armies would deploy with an infantry centre in one or more lines. (Usually three for Romans, usually only one for Hellenistic armies). They would then have cavalry on both wings and perhaps in reserve, plus light troops both in the centre and on the wings.

Gettysburg: The Tide Turns is out!

Thursday, July 13, 2017

The Battle of Gettysburg, fought between the Army of the Potomac and the Army of Northern Virginia, is considered by many the turning point of the American Civil War.

Lasted three days, from July 1st to July 3rd, 1863, the battle saw many epic and tragic moments, culminating in the famous Pickett's Charge, the desperate frontal assault of the confederates against the unionist defensive lines at Cemetery Ridge.

Today, Shenandoah and Slitherine are very proud to release Gettysburg: The Tide Turns, the brilliant hex-based wargame that will make you relive all the hard tactical choices the Confederates and the Unionists had to take during these long and crucial days of fierce fighting.
