Its a minor annoyance which can become a major one on certain hits. Its requirements are pretty low (1slot and 3t if I remember correctly) and it has the bonus of getting no hit penalties on file into cover, same goes for the NB.

There's no permanent damaged, but it can be more than a mere annoyance if it shuts off your engine or gyro. :-) You tend to fall over fast. It can also turn off your life support, which, if you're running hot or getting hit, can cause your jock to be burned or suffer shock damage.

Hmm, not really true. It can damage the battle computer and the DCS. LS cannot be turned off, but it can produce some special effects.
Like Larkin said, for its requirements, it's a nice "annoyance". Seeing your electronics being turned off and your shield being almost inneffective is a pain. The full list of effects will be in the guide.

Stop thinking in terms of what one design can carry. Instead start thinking of what your entire squad can carry. Squad warfare is not like duels.

I play with 8 jocks in 8 Titans. All the time. usually with 3 friends with similar squads on LAN. That is a normal game.

We rarely play duels. THough we could if we wanted to. They are fun. But the tactics involved in a huge 4 player match is a teensy bit more interesting.

And vibra claws are cool additions.

How big are the vibra claws? Ie, could I put one on a light titan? I'm an advocate of using small chassis for melee combat since they can close range in a timely fashion.

They are 2 slots. Punch/kick damage in WS is a bit reduced so even the heavier classes can benefit from CC weapons.

They weigh less than the other CC weapons, I believe.

Stringing us along?
More things than are dreamed about
Unseen and unexplained
We suspend our disbelief
And we are entertained

They weigh less than the chainsaw would be more accurate.

I'm still more partial to the Vibra Claws. 5 points of damage internal, 5 points of damage external and a 60% chance you can kiss an internal system goodbye. I already can picture a "Bad Kitty" design based on this weapon.

Notice it doesn't destroy a system, it acts exactly like a meson. There is a chance it'll destroy the system, just like a meson, but it is very slim, and not the standard.
This weapon is supposed to be something for lighter titans to face heavier ones with. That's where the chances for crits are higher :D Armor and empty slots are treated as no effect, just like with mesons.
And, of course, the called shot chew from within tactic is valid, whatever the opponent's size :)

Also make sure you remember the downside to Vibra Claws - if you miss the hit, it damages the arm the claws are installed in. For recons, that 1 or 2 points of damage can make a big difference.

And balanced by their heat and recycle stats :)
But the sound... oh that sound! It alone makes you want to use the weapon :D

Its only half fun to hear the vibrablade. One half the time you're using it and it sounds great. The other half the enemy is using it and its like scratching the chalkboard.
