Playing Allies in a PBEM game, 1 April 42. My opponent launches his third consecutive attack against Sian at 1-to-1 odds. Combat report reads:
Ground combat at Sian
Japanese Deliberate attack
Attacking force 142625 troops, 1110 guns, 1 vehicles
Defending force 53219 troops, 136 guns, 0 vehicles
Japanese assault odds: 1 to 1 (fort level 0)
Japanese Assault reduces fortifications to 0
Japanese ground losses:
803 casualties reported
Guns lost 24
Allied ground losses:
849 casualties reported
Guns lost 15
On moving on to plot the next turn however, the map shows Sian as a Japanese base. The Chinese garrison units are sitting in the adjacent hex and the aircraft of a unit of Chinese fighters based at the city is shown as destroyed!
Can anyone explain what happened here?
