I take that back. Looks like it might just be a night-fighter varient of the Me-110. 410 has a smaller, in-line canope from what I can tell. But the engines look like radials (Ju-88 varient?), but the fuselage looks too narrow to be an 88 varient.

Hm...

He 219 had tricycle gear. I don't thing the German Mosquito flew, it is in German Night Fighter Camo. Not a 110, 210, or 410 all had V12 without the circular radiators like the Ju88.

I think it's a Night Fighter Ju88C-something, later version without the gun tub.

You've got some good eyes. That pic is too small for me to make out any of those details.

But - no one said this was at a German airfield, so I don't think we should be limiting the possibilities to german aircraft.

Surely it's not going to be a night fighter with such a pale colour scheme?

Steve.

Info only: The Arado AR 234 was used to bomb the bridge at Remagen.
This was in broad daylight and they attacked at fairly low level.(Nobody knew what the planes were, just fast !!)

Not that uncommon to use a pale gray. It's likely a night-fighter, because of the radar antenna protuding from the nose.

Example of a "not black" night-fighter

It could be a JU 388. German high speed and high altitude recon bomber and probably could be used as a night fighter. The nose looks different (a little) but I cannot tell whether the nose is hard covered or if the glazed front is covered over.

This one in storage at the National Space museum is still in grey pattern.

Looks like a Junkers 88C-type. Its nose is too high off the ground to be a -110, and it doesn't have enough glass to be a -388.
