Fast PBEM - 4 Nations

Post by nukkxx5058 »

Hi, I'd like to start a "fast PBEM" with highly motivated gamers.

---->>> 1792 sceario <<<-----
Diplomacy conducated by email.

In order to speed-up the process I propose to apply the following rules:

- every player commit himself to react promptly and send his turn as fast as possible.
- maximum 4 players, other nations are AI
- in order to optimize the process, nations are determined by time-zone order. First player to play is from US west-coast, then east-coast, then GMT guys and so on. The first west-coast guy to register for the game choose his country. Player chose their country according to the following list.

Possible choices for 1st player
France
Britain

Possible choices for 2nd player
Sweden
Prussia

Possible choices for 3rd player
Austria
Russia

Possible choices for 4th player
Turkey
Spain

Who's interested ? please indicate your time zone to determinate the nation's choice.

What does "highly motivated" mean? Unemployed? [;)]

I'd like to play in such a game but if the requirement is that turns be sent out within an hour of receipt, then I cannot play.

I think (hope) he wants players who will always try to send their turn on to the next player as quickly as they can, because all four of us want to actually play the game, rather than just sitting waiting for days on end for the next person in the chain of eight to take their move, delays which are made worse by turns constantly switching timezones back and forth, always seeming to move in the most inconvienent pattern!

Hi,

You guys should probably get all English players to make that easier..

But, I have the game here at work and at home and can post a turn pretty quickly when I get it if you can deal with a West Coast USA player.

I have two other PBEM's and still haven't played one turn so I'd be up for a quickie PBEM game.

Ok, I don't think I'm going to be able to do this (playing from work!) so I'll pass. Good luck to you all.

I'm in Central Standard Time... if that counts. Can guarantee a turn a day at worst.

I was kidding... I am GMT+1... so according to top post I will be getting third choice I think, James is west coast and will have to play first (though I would have thought that his day finished after everybody elses....)

Just a thought but isnt this the wrong way round? Would it not be better to pass the turn on in the direction the sun travels?

Central Europe, UK, East Coast, then West (or start at west and post to Europe)

Otherwise we may have a full day plus waiting for each player to recieve and pass on...

Just a thought.

So, after correction the order is the following one:

1) nukkxx (GMT+2)
2) ian77 (GMT+1)
3) Belphegore (CST)
4) TheRockSal (West coast)

So I have to pick a nation ... well, I'll try britain

Your turn guys to pick a nation.

I will setup the game tomorrow (its nearly 1 AM and have to wake up early tomorrow)
