Are there any other German speaking persons out there?

I never believed there weren´t any, but some persons wondered wether there weren´t any Germans. So I thought let us count.

Hallo Frank! Ich glaube wir kennen uns schon. :-) Aber für alle Anderen: Hallo aus Deutschland! Bin hier eher unregelmäßig: Familie, Job, sonstige Aktivitäten.... und sonstige faulen Ausreden. Also bis dann... Harry -------- Now rough translation Hi Frank! I think we know us already. :-) But for the rest: Greetings from Germany! I'm here only sporadic: Family, Job, other activities.... and other lame excuses. So long... Harry [This message has been edited by Harry (edited March 02, 2001).]

Do you German-speakers actually live in Germany? The reason I ask is that I have always heard that this sort of game was illegal in Germany. Even the game "Risk" could not be sold there. POssibly times have changed. ------------------ Croaker

Hi Croaker, i can´t remember, that anytime such games are illegal in germany. only games mit "hakenkreuzen" or "SS-runes" are illegal here....but normally such games are expecially for use in germany "updated"

A few years after WWI all wargames, espacially small figures, have been forbidden. The BRD even have no forces a few years. After the few years, cold war was hot and all demilitarisation disappears..

We have some forbidden symbols here: the swatiska, the SS-runes and all similar symbols, too. The game Panzergeneral 1 was forbidden, too.

I learned it from TV, years later. But that doesn´t matter, it was a good game. (You don´t have to drive to fast, too and nobody cares)

Hmmm.

Try to translate: well, some germans reading this page ? Nice, so we are 4 (or 5?) PG1 was on index ? This must be after publishing, or ? I think, they decided so, because of winnig the game as a german....

Hi, just another one from Germany. I've been visiting this forum for quite a while, just to lazy to write.

To make it clear. Most games are not forbidden in Germany. They only must not be made accessible to children. You can buy them absolutely legally if you are aged 18 or older. But the problem now is that a game won't sell if you have to ask for it in the shop since it doesn't lay next to the other games. Many games come in a special version for the german market. For example Hidden and Dangerous. In the international version you see blood if you hit the enemy and the dead bodies lay around. In the german version you see only blue stars instead of blood and dead bodies disappear at once. Here is a list of all games that are on the index: http://www.webfriendz.de/games/usk/usk.html As you can imagine the discussion if putting the games on an index does make since or not is going as long as I can think.
