Now that TOS:WS has been released to critical acclaim and (hopefully) finacial success, what next?

Not that I'm tired of TOS:WS, but I am curious to know what VB has up its sleeve for its next game.

Expansion, sequel, something new?

That's odd; I could have sworn I saw an answer to Iskandar's question within the last day .. mentioning patch 1.2 and the projected demo ..... where'd it go?

There was... We seem to have lost the last 2-3 days worth of posts

I am currently developing 3 games. Two should interest sci-fi fans. The other should interest soccer fans.

See the gallery at heroinware.net if you would like to view some images.

Seems it was a very selective loss. By the dates in this thread, couldn't have been more than a full day (Iskandar's is 21st, Peter's is 22nd). I know Larkin's post disappeared, cause I saw it. But cannot remember any others.

hey, just had a thought...
you know what I'd love to see next?

I would dearly love to see a starship turn based game.

anyone ever play Starfleet battles? The old tabletop game?

I would dearly love to see VB do to that what they did to Battletech with Titans of Steel.

I really can't think of any, or at least any recent, turn based stategy game dealing in space combat. I mean, you see some in almost any 4x game, but I mean in depth combat. You just never see that.

Homeworld did great for real time, granted. But, frankly, I prefer turn based, always have, always will..

Funnily enough with the demise of the Babylon 5 wars game, Full Thrust not doing well and Battlefleet Gothic being a bit too simple minded for me and my friend I decided to put pen to paper to design one. I will bore you with the details some other time though

You are right though there has not been a half decent turn based space ship game since Master of Orion 2's inbuilt tactical game or harking back even further SSI's Star General. it's about time somebody programmed one, now who is Virtual Boy enough to do so...

Stars! is a great game -- it's old (1996) but very deep, a bit like chess among the galaxies. As long as you don't mind odd graphics (Cheh!) it's got a learning curvelike a rollercoaster and plenty of opponents. It managed to steal Hetzer from you all, anyway :p

http://www.crisium.com/stars ---- info
http://stars.lelv30.net ---- to buy the full game - prices vary wildly with exchange rates
http://www.starsfaq.com ---- technical guts of the game if you get serious

Old Hetz is a bit late always. I played Stars! 1995 for the first time. Great multiplayer game. I installed by own scripted modem host to autogenerate turns.

Yes, but Stars! is 4X, is it not?

I don't mean 4X. I mean full on starship on starship combat. A TBS system, vs the RTS system we find so ofte in games like Homeworld.

I have yet to see anything like that, really ever.

I played Starfleet battles, and loved that, just can't find opponents anymore.

Space just isn't as interesting a battlefield, tactically. But I could use a Wings of Steel
I used to play Interceptor the boardgame eons ago, it was fun. I still have the PC version somewhere, though I doubt it'll still run.

Oy. I'll have to take you on in a one-on-one blitz then I guess, Larkin. Come find out what a quickstart Space Demolition can do to you by 2440

Well, I am currently resurrecting the W.O.S.P project (does anybody remeber? ).
To the left you can see "BLACK PANTHER" walking down the street.

What do you say about her looks?

I know it's real-time but you should try out Starfleet Command: Orion Pirates. Those were all based on SFB. You can also set how long turns are and pause it. I'd recommend it.
