Has good looks. But can I question quality? and parts, service. Those would tend to keep me from a purchase

wodin, you would look great with that Nazis helmet on while riding that scooter. But don't think it would be a good idea having a complete Nazis uniform, someone might shoot you.

Btw cute little bug you have there

Did you know German products were synonymous of bad quality in the XIX century? I suspect you don't.

We can thank the Chinese: they lifted the world out of the 2008 crisis. Check the raw numbers, it's amazing what they built. Tangible stuff: concrete, steel... 2.000 hospitals, 5.000 clinics, thousands of kms of highways, railways They are producing scientists and engineers like mushrooms as we speak. This should tell you everything you need to know if you paid attention...

I for one welcome our new Chinese overlords. And I mean it

It looks awesome, Wodin.

How long can you drive before it needs recharging? In city environment? Or if you want to take a leisurely drive on the countryside?

We are not allowed to say x tons of potatoes were produced by y or what? What's wrong exactly? That the right persuasion is producing less potatoes?

60 to 80 km range

3 to 6 hour recharge

Upto 60kmh but I've restricted to legal 15.5 mph for our roads so it doesn't need reg plate.

Build is great. The postage cost near as much as machine, machine cost 750 us dollars postage was 620 usd. I got two spare tires, gloves and leather bag too. ALtogether paid just under 1100 pounds. You could retail it here for around 1800+ pounds!

Maybe he was referring to "welcoming our Chinese overlords"? And how did China lift the world out of the 2008 crisis? Should we all be prostrating ourselves to comrade Jinping now?

Just about. We had a new microwave oven installed today. It's a GE but the guy said it's made in China. Also told us it would only last about 4 years. The one we had before that (made in the US, I believe) lasted 17.

Here we would have had to pay a VAT and a VAT administration charge as well. Not sure if there would have been other taxes as well. The VAT would have added around 200 dollars to the cost.

Still, it seems like a bargain to me. Especially if it performs as promised, and the battery has a decent life length.

I would be concerned about quality control in China. Several complaints here in the US about quality of products from there. I don't think they guarantee any of their parts. I bought a product from China after two weeks waiting for shipping, the product arrived but did not work as advertised. I was stuck with it.

Having to get parts shipped from china for your scooter. If the shipping was so high for the scooter any part that has significant weight would be costly add to that the price of the part.

I hope you get many years of good service out of your new scooter Wodin, problem free.

Still we get news about collapsing/exploding bridges, buildings, and stuff made in/by China. I have read they had rebuilt part of the Great Wall, and rebuilt part had collapsed in very short order.

As in here maybe?

re China massive package stimulus and how it helped, you might want to read Adam Tooze's book Crashed. A great read.

My microwave is still working and is from... the mid 80s. They made it (it's French) to last

I have rode electric bikes in China. They are extremely well made and very durable. Battery last as much as 120 km depending on the option you choose. Time have changed. The Chinese build things quick, cheap, and good. They are the US of 1940s.

Only problems you going to have incase something do arise that needed to be replace, might be really hard to come by or even expensive to get from China. You could try install different motor or parts that made in USA. If you have some skills to do it.

I bought some canned tuna that was a product of China. Never again. I highly doubt it was all tuna.

I doubt this can be true. Common sense says if there's a market to sell these electric scooters in Europe, then spare parts come in the same lot ie cargo ship. As cheap as the classic toys, clothes that flooded the world markets. Except they learn very quickly (as the Germans eventually did)... and now can offer quality too

And besides, he just bought it, let's not jinx it (wheels coming off etc)

In 2009, when I was in China the standard electric scooter price was 300 € IIRC I expected lots of bicycles, but I happened to visit the "new" China: zillions of electric scooters everywhere. Not a single bicycle.

No wonder they're buying up all the rare earth containing minerals, for batteries.

Well I got two spare tires. Also components are pretty standard for this type of Citycoco scooter.

Did have trouble getting front wheel on, but that was down to my ineptitude. Things ways a ton and solidly built.
