scenarios

Post by jjdenver »

Hi,

This post is really awesome:
tm.asp?m=4388699

I'm interested in scenarios playable vs PO that work well with TOAW4 and offer a decent challenge.

The post above seems to give me a good idea about Vietnam scenarios.

What scenarios are recommended for the following topics:
East Front WW2 (iirc there is some scenario that's supposed to be really good for PO play as Axis but I don't recall which one)
N. Africa WW2
West Front WW2
War in China WW2
Asia/Pacific WW2
Arab-Israeli conflicts post WW2

Any other standout PO scenarios? For example something hypothetical or any other standout scenario from any time period or topic?

I'd appreciate you mentioning which side a human should play vs PO side (or if both sides work well then mention that too).

Thank you for the recommendations. [:D]

I'd appreciate you mentioning which side a human should play vs PO side (or if both sides work well then mention that too).

There are many games available for battle against the PO. I prefer shorter games such as:
Inkangahtawng 1944
La Grande Armee 1805
Nomonhan 1939

For hypothetical games, and a challenge against a live player, I suggest Revisionist War 1938.

Thanks Rhinobones. I'm aware there are many games avail. :) This is why I'm asking for suggestions. I appreciate the 3 you mentioned.

Does anyone else have other suggestions? I will be on vacation for 2 weeks without much internet and hoped to get them set up on my laptop to try before I depart.

Directive 21 will give you a good game against the PO. [;)]

Thank you. I read on the directive 21 thread that the authors are working on another update so I'm reluctant to start that one right now although it seems like my top choice. I wonder how the PO does in the Nach Frankenreich scenario.

D21.

If you're looking for a Naval War there's "Pacific at War 1941-1945 v.3.63" but I don't think there's a PO. But you could play both sides. I've done it. It's a lot like WITP-AE but easier.

EDIT: If anybody sees a scenario they might want to try gimme a shout out and I'll send it to you.

Thanks Larry - D21 is on my list but I'm waiting for the update that the thread mentioned may be coming.

I'm not really interested in naval only or scenarios with no PO unfortunately but thank you. If you think of any other standout scenarios to play vs the PO I'd appreciate it.

There's a set of scenarios in the "Road to Moscow" series and I playtested several of them.
You might want to give that a try. I'm just saying......

Hey you guys here's a list of the Pacific Theater Scenarios I have and it just occured to me that some of you readers might want some of these scenarios too so I zipped them all up and uploaded it to a file server on the cloud and here's the link to the file:

This link will probably be good for a month or so and it's 5/28/2019 right now.

bump - some of you veterans out there must have favorite scenarios to play vs the AI? I prefer a bit bigger scenario if possible.

Same here, I am seeking out NATO/WP scenes w/ challenging PO. I would include that category in your list.

Great idea!!

I like D21 a lot. It's FITE with a Soviet PO. You can find it here:
