Minor Conflict: Warspite1 vs Mayhemizer AAR

Post by Mayhemizer_slith »

Hello everyone, welcome to our Global War AAR.

I'm playing as the Allies and Warspite1 as the Axis.

We have few other games going on same time, but there is always time for a minor conflict. For those who are plying with us already: We will prioritize those games.

Three house rules as below.

- USSR - Japan pact (Basically playing the normal rules but without markers so based upon Garrison ratios. No attack in 39 and needs 2:1 in 40 for Japan to DoW).

- Only strategic bombing allowed as a night mission (all other missions must be performed by day).

- HOUSE RULE FOR EN-ROUTE INTERCEPTION (removed during game).

You are quite right. Although this rule can be confusing at times. So I add this just in case.

To break the pact you need 2:1 but the defensive garrison value is modified depending on year. So in reality the value needed is as follows.

4:1 in '40
2:1 in '41
1:1 in '42
2:3 in '43
1:2 in '44 and '45

Typical US set up, fleets to Norfolk and San Diego.

USSR places almost all European units on Romanian border.
2x INF, CAV div and CAV are placed on Persian border.
Zhukov, AT gun, INF, FTR and LND3 are placed to Manchurian border.

I did not post pictures of scrapped units, after all major powers have doe their set up we can post them all together.

If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

Set-up: Italy

As said, scrapped unit detail to follow.

Set-up pretty uncontroversial. A heavy presence on the French border, the fleet in La Spezia guarded by the Regia Aeronautica and the majority of units around Tripoli.

Set-up: Japan

Scrapped units to follow. Meantime the Japanese set up with an emphasis in the north. Light forces are left to guard the south and central portions of China.

Set-up: Germany

Scrapped units to follow. Nothing out of the ordinary with the German placement. It's a Poland-centric set-up.

Houston we have a problem.....

Looks like you overstacked the US air units and are being asked to destroy them.

Ah, dang. I need to edit file and move some of them to other city. I do it tonight... I think it’s easier than doing everything again.

Now when I think, is it possible to take pilots out of planes from CVs?

Here are the Polish units

Remember the two naval units too.

I can go back and set-up all units - so long as you are okay with that?

If so, let me know where you want the US aircraft to go.

Remember some units may now change so we could lose out or gain - but there is not much else we can do.

It’s easy to fix by editing file, I do it in 5 minutes tonight. No need to redo set up.

Split ships to two ports.

Both planes to safe, SE corner of Poland.

2x 5-3 INF and division to Warsaw.
INF HQ and 4-3 INF to Lodz.
CAV Poznan.
3-3 INF Katowize.
4-4 INF NW of Warsaw.
If your attack is going really well, it's an ambush.

Right, well there is no autosave for post the German set-up so I am going to have to re-do the German set-up and hope there is not a big difference in units chosen.

There is a bit of a difference. It looks like the only thing in the German's favour is the extra Stuka (but no Ju-88) and the better He-111 (strat factor) , but everything else is either the same or worse than previously picked e.g. no MOT AA unit, black print MTN, slower infantry and MOT. But I'm not going to keep re-doing until its the same so it will have to do.

Can you save at destroy planes stage? If not you can proceed. I can fix by editing those CVPs and pilots they die too.
