Can some pesky little Soviet units use a damaged port, so that they are not isolated, even if they have no land connection to a supply source?

No if the port is broken then it's red sqaures all around unless they retake it, hold and manage to survive until it comes back online from repairs

Could be orange squares if they are on the coast for "beachhead supply".

Port repair should go faster, though.

I should of been more concise when I tried to inject a bit of casual humour with "Red sqaures all around" darn you Doctorking!

So as to not confuse the answer Dinglrs question, whether orange or red sqaures the buggers will still count as isolated for surrendering purposes until the port is fixed, even if some of them very rudely have bullets to fire with

Another question, if soviet units are on a port, but the only port they can reach from that port is damaged beyond use, will they still rout from the working port through the damaged port? As in, does it require a working port on both sides, or just the 'shipping out' side?

Requires both - you need to trace a complete supply line all the way back to the permanent supply sources. So only one working port in an isolated area would need another working port in the same sea not also in an isolated area for there to be supply.

If you are playing as the Axis then when on a broken port they'll be embraced and included into the Reich as Hiwis and given all the due titles and honours accompained with it

However I don't know if the rate of captured/lost/escaspees etc is increased or decreased if they are on a broken port or have beachead status so that would need testing or a helpful person to answer in that regard

Awesome, thanks for the responses.

Last question (except for you ST you will get many more questions from me), if a port is captured, will it receive any damage if there was no fight for it? And is there a delay before units can start shipping in?

Whether or not there is a fight for it the damage will be 99% the next turn. When the port can be used depends on the size of the port as described in this post.
