Mostly out of curiosity, I'd like to know what are typical compositions of artillery regiments and divisions. I checked some on Wikipedia but the most detailed OOB I got is this Finnish regiment consisting of only 3 howitzer and rocket batteries and a mortar company. What are the big regiments and divisions like?

Most Countries did not have artillery divisions though the Soviets in WW2 did check them

There are as many different TOE for artillery regiments, brigades and divisions as there are countries in the world. During WW2 the Soviets had many artillery divisions. The Germans one. I don't know if any other nations had artillery divisions but they certainly had many brigades, regiments, battalions and batteries. Best if you do a search for whatever nation you are curious about.

I have been looking for it, but most of the results are about history of a given unit. How about this for an artillery regiment for BattleTech game?

1st SPG artillery battalion
36 vehicles with Sniper artillery weapon

2nd SPG artillery battalion
36 vehicles with Sniper artillery weapon

3rd battalion
1st security company
12 tanks/assault guns/SPG with direct-fire autocannons/lasers
2nd security company
3 mechanized infantry platoons (or more AFVs with direct fire guns)
3rd recon company
12 recon vehicles for recon and spotting targets

Would that work, and does it resemble anything from real world?

WTF, that is a training unit just like all other Finnish peace time units, exceptions being the readiness units inside those brigades and special forces.

A possible wartime regiment could have two battalions of artillery, one 18 x 122mm and the other 18 x 155mm.

But it all depends on the organisation they are part of, the Finnish field artillery is composed of around 50 batallions and the war time OOB is secret so anyone claiming they know is lying or committing a crime.

Are you Finnish and have you served in some capacity?

The mortars are the organic infantry support, an infantry batallion has a mortar company of 120mm mortars and an infantry company has a platoon of 81mm mortars.

Ok, then I understand that you could mix up the peace time organisation.

It is only for training and mobilisation, the war time units come in different forms, an artillery batallion could be anything from 12 to 18 guns/howitzers depending on the organisation and the type of artillery.

These batallions can form organic or independent regiments or something Finns call artillery groups (tykistöryhmä) for the brigades and corps.

The independent batallions/groups are usually composed of 152m or 155mm guns and 122mm or 227mm rocket launchers.
They are used for counter-battery fire or used in creating a center of mass(painopiste), usually related to a pre-planned kill zone(tuhoamisalue)of joint fires.

The composition of these is all speculative as is the composition of the brigades and corps.
Battlegroups built around some type of infantry batallion and an artillery batallion are now used as the basic building block for brigades.
