Hi, is there a way (if yes how) to modify via modding the command options (raider, perpare, fortify, auto, ground, etc.) that are associated with different unit types? For example if I would want to replace the paratrooper category with some other unit type for which it wouldn't make sense to "prepare then fly away" or if I would like to give the ability to fortify hexes not just to engineers but for all land units.

I saw in the default localization.txt there there are some yet unused commands (eg.: #CMD_ENTRENCH which I assume is being kept open for future WWI titles) could i utilize the opportunities presented by these or are these command associations hard coded into the game?

Hi

I don't think this is possible, but on the plus side, you can use the Paratroop slot for another land unit by setting the Minimum Supply Level for a Para drop to a value higher than what is possible in game.

In the Editor, you can do this by going to Campaign -> Edit Country Data and the relevant button is on the right hand side, called Min Paratroops Prepare Supply Level.

Thank you for the info!
Are there/will there be any plans of making this sort of thing (ie. modable unit type specific commands) possible in the future? I would like to make a WWI mod and such things would be fairly useful (blockade for ships, gas for artillery, scouting for cavalry, entrench and/or fortify for corps and armies etc.)

Good question. I'm not sure we can promise this at the moment, but as this series has progressed over the years we have made more things editable by modders, so it's possible we'll be able to make some more things editable in future too.
