TOE 232 LW SE Flak Battalion

Post by Aufklaerungs »

I was perusing the the TOE files and was stumped by # 232 - LW SE Flak Bn.
Other than southeast, I can't figure out what "SE" means.

Thanks!

I can find no specific German military abbreviation for SE. Looking at the size of the unit, 1 x 88mm FlaK and 9 men it's likely to mean Schwere Einheit, heavy detachment or unit.

Having said that, I had another thought. It more likely to mean sondereinheit, special detachment or unit. I've vaguely remember seeing it before.

Thanks guys. I can't find any units using it either. Possibly an available TOE slot, if needed for an update.

The 232nd was a heavy, or "schwere" Flak Bn. I'm guessing the SE designation stands for "schwere" although it is usually abbreviated s.Flak, similar to le.Flak for "light flak"

Is Wiki correct about having medium ranged radios in 232 SE bn?

Which made me think it meant sondereinheit, special detachment and in the game it only has one gun.
