A figure 8 is not an 'Area'. Pretty sure you need a geometric shape bound by lines that do not cross each other.

I understand what you're trying to do, but I'd hate to be a passenger on that plane...

Geometric shapes seem rather basic for modern air operations

But I guess you have a point
