Can you more informed people let me know if there is a WW2 game that offers the following....

Larger scale battles
West and/or Eastern Front
Covers air/land conflicts
Offers 3d counter images (I know JTCS does this, but I've tried that game and really didn't care for it)
Game tracks losses....individual losses (I do believe the Campaign Series does this?)

Thanks

Maybe TOAW but none of these are for the new or casual wargamer. They are all pretty involved with staggering amount of depth. Campaign Series has a much lower learning curve than any of these games mentioned above.

Thanks....maybe I'll play around some more with the Tiller game. Watched a couple videos of GG War in the West. Damn....that is a huge learning curve, but it's exactly the kind of game I'd really like to sink my teeth into. Love how it tracks individual losses and how much of WW2 it covers!

I will have to say I tried HoI4 and was overwhelmed and found myself not enjoying the game itself.

I played that one as well and I like the game concept but the AI is incredibly dumb and ruins the experience for me personally. The AI leaving the UK completely undefended and open to invasion is inexcusable!

I found that with GG's games you don't just jump in and play, you jump in and study for hours, the map, OOB, bases, assets, naval and air ops, etc.. Which is great if you are up for that.

When I first played GG WitP as the allies it took me 8 hrs to study and organize all allied forces from India to California and Australia to China. That was turn 1, other turns were faster later in the game. It was a chore but still one of the most satisfying game experiences I have ever had.

HoI4 is dire. Right now, the best choice is HoI3 upgraded to Their Finest Hour - with either the Black Ice or The Historical Plausibility Project Mods.

Paradox suffered from a general fall in quality in this generation of games: in HoI4 you can conquer the World with Italy and yawn all the time while you are doing it. And Stellaris is, once the novelty wears out, BOOOOOOOOOOOORING. Crusader Kings II and Europa Universalis 4 are still the linchpins of Paradox's line up - which is telling.

Thanks for telling. I was considering that game for multiplayer purposes.
