Join the tournament by posting your name in this thread and who your opponent is etc. if you have one. It would be really cool if you could find somebody yourself for this first round.

And the rules:

1. I set the rules. I'll listen to your advice of course, but the decider is me. 2. Play the tournament scenario ten full turns, once for each side, and total the net VP's that each player earned.
3. The winners of each round will play each other, and any un-paired contestant can play Elmer.
4. The scenario for the second and subsequent rounds is a closely held secret, To Be Announced Real Soon Now.
5. Let's start a week from now ( Wednesday 7/18/2018 00:01 ).
6. It's a rule that each player gets 72 hours ( 3 days ) to submit his moves, else he's
awarded 0 VP's and the tournament goes on as him having lost the match.
7. All appeals should be addressed to Tamas K.
8. All games are to be played PBEM.

07/11/2018 EDIT:
I've decided on a scenario just to get us started:
Just play the first 10 turns and the most VP's wins.
Play mirror games and total up the VP's.

Edit: I've decided to update this list of pairings when
it gets added to or changed. That way we can know who is
playing who and how their game came out.

Here's a list of the participants so far:

larryfulkerson
General Patton
NikolaiEzhov
Ammann
wzfcns
Cfant
MikeC317
rtropp
walkra
Marc1314
hingram

Here's a list of the scenarios we can use:

"Arracourt '44.sce"
1922 Greco-Turkish War -- reported as buggy. No supply for the Italian troops.
Anonymous Heroics
Cambrai 1917
Franco-Prussian War 1870

Edit: Some of you might want to try out Bob Cross's Cambrai 1917 for
your tournament matches. I'm attaching it here below.

Well, I guess we're the first match up then. I hope we get at least 8 contestants, to fill up your spreadsheet.

Great news man, I'm in. What game version shall we use? 4.0.1.23?
PBEM or PBEM++? Maybe the later is more convenient?

Yes, I think we should all use 4.0.1.23 and it would probably be
best if everybody could use the PBEM++ system.

PM somebody who posts in this thread to see if you can hook up with
an opponent. That's what I would do.

Hey Ammann, you and wzfcns have posted as the next two...why
don't the two of you pair up and get a game going? You're
going to have to play him at some point anyway.

Somewhere in the rules I stipulated that we would start a week from now but hey, if you can find an opponent I can't think of a good reason to wait at all. Good hunting.

Hey you guys:
General Patton has successfully lobbied for "Arracourt '44.sce" as the tournament scenario because it's
one that nobody has played in years if ever and it's good for a tournament. Another good one would be
Bob Cross's Cambrai scenario. I'll let you guys choose which one you guys can agree on for your match.

I'm attaching Cambrai 1917 to this post for those of you who want to play it.

Hello:

What do you think about the scenario "Anomonyous Heroics (PBEM)"? Pretty small but interesting game. Not as imbalanced as Arracourt 44.

You could encourage the contestants to do an AAR I suppose.

Hi Larry:

I have just come up with an idea.
What if we create a "scenario pool"?
In case of some people find themselves particularly unfamiliar/familiar to the designated scenario, which could generate an imbalance between player, I think we shall not define a single battle map, or let the competing players decide what to play.
Instead, we shall generate a "scenario pool" that consists of several scenarios that available for the Tournament.
Each of the players has the right to ban 1-2 scenarios.
After that, the scenario to play is selected by Random Number.

Regards, N E.

Well,I'd like to join the match.

Welcome and make yourself at home. PM one of the guys listed in this thread
to find an opponent and join in.

By the way, NikolaiEzhov reports that the Greeko-Turkish scenario doesn't have
any supply sources for the Italian troops and so I'd recommend using a different
scenario for your matches.
