Game will not start

Whenever I open the game, I get to the original menu, with the manual and whatnot, but when I hit 'Play Game' a spinning wheel pops up for a second and then goes away. No game or secondary menu appears and I attempt clicking again but to no avail. Any solutions or advice?

If you purchased/downloaded from Steam, first thing to try is to uninstall (delete) from your Steam library, download new files and reinstall. You can check file integrity by selecting the game in your library, right-click and open properties. Steam will reload any corrupted missing or incomplete files.
