s base

Gary Grigsby’s War in the West 1943-45 is the most ambitious and detailed computer wargame on the Western Front of World War II ever made. Starting with the Summer 1943 invasions of Sicily and Italy and proceeding through the invasions of France and the drive into Germany, War in the West brings you all the Allied campaigns in Western Europe and the capability to re-fight the Western Front according to your plan.

How do I change the S Base in the air phase for my air directive. I want to do strategic bombing but i want to change my s base to sudbury where my 8th air force command is so all my planes (1370) can be use.

You can change the staging base manually for each air directive, but there's no way to change the default staging base for an air HQ.

My practice is to move the 8th AF escort groups to Seething, Lowestoft (I use a construction unit to build a base there), Bungay, and Halesworth and set the staging base to Lowestoft. That way the escort groups, which have the least range even with big drop tanks, have the least distance to go to join up with the mission, and therefore can escort farther over Germany.

Thanks Cary, I was wondering I saw in strategic bombing for dummies tutorial he had set sbase to sudbury and all 1370 aircraft showed up. but what u said makes sense, so I'll do that.
Thanks again.
