Playing as the Axis against the AI. Leaving the setup as is. No advantage/FOW.

I'm going to be as detailed as possible so this might take a bit of time.

Down load and installation clean.

Question?.... The "Greyish" hexes vs Desert Hexes...When right clicked on either, they both show up as "Desert". What's the difference?

Just an experiment...and I'm confused. I moved two (2) units of the 15 Rifle Bde through the minefield hexes. The Terrain Effects say this is not possible...???????

The rules state that units "Adjacent" to a minefield expend their entire movement allowance to cross a Minefield hex, but the TEC "Right Click" obviously does not

I stand corrected...The notes state that "The penalties apply only if "Attacking" across the hexside....But still confusing....

No difference in those desert hexes. The colours may vary slightly to add some ... eh ... colour to the map ;).
Yes, units expend their entire movement points to cross minefields and (for those who haven't played the game), supply does not cross minefields, but Engineers can "breach" minefields so that movement is easier, and supply can cross, though attacking over breached minefields still has negative penalties.

Turn 1 Axis Planning Phase....The operational plan has the 15th and 21st Pz outflanking the Allied position at Bir Hachiem along with the Italian Ariete. The 90th Light heads for Bir El Gubi to provide flank security and to threaten the airfield at Sidi Rezegh. The Trieste will attack north of Bir Hachiem in an attempt to isolate the outpost. The rest of the front will hammer the front lines with artillery and probe for weakness.....We'll see what happens.

In the center, the 17th "Pavia" Inf Div and the 101st "Trieste" Motorized Div move forward to gain intel on the Allied defenses north of Bir Hacheim. Artillery is plotted against known enemy positions.

Axis Planning Phase T2....Well the movement of the Ariete Div comes to a screeching halt south of Bir Hachiem as the Ariete Recce runs into what appears to be the screen line of the British 7th Armored Div.

(Sorry about the picture clarity/size. The 200kb limit is a killer)

The Objective is to complete the breach and swing north towards Gazala. If successful, the German 15th Rifle Bde will support the attack along the coast road. First, a great AAR. Second, I can't imagine many Matrix customers saying "no" to this game. Reminds me of SSG, which is a very good thing (imo). I hope that they follow through on the promise of the scenario editor. Not that I doubt their word, but things can change.

Thanks for this

Rest assured, full scenario editor included!
It's exactly the same Editor as used to create all the scenarios in the game. ;)
Also included are the base big North Africa maps that contain the cover the entire 1940-42 theatre of operations from Libya to Egypt, so you can "cut" out a piece of the map and make a smaller scenario on that subsection of the map (or you just create a map from scratch).

Axis Planning Phase T4...In the north, The Sabratha's breaching success comes with a price, they are in a kill sack. The 15th Riffle Bde moves forward to recon the positions to their front and to give the Allies other targets other then the Sabratha...Combat supply is allocated to the 15th Inf Bde, the 85th and 86th Regt Hq's to increase the artillery firepower.

Note...seems the Allies have an over stacked hex (but the Intel may be incorrect

Ok...the "Allied Overstacked" hex has 15 stacking points in it according to the "K" Hex info Hotkey...time for a reboot of this scenario to see what happens next time.

That overstacked hex is an error in the scenario.
The released version of the game will have this fixed!
Thanks,

Thanks for the AAR, it's great to see something about this game.

Looking through the details of the picture, it looks to me that the concept is very similar to that of Atomic Games' V4V/WAW games. All the concepts seem to be there (odds shift, intensity, percentage based casualties). Is this just how it looks and you have just borrowed the names? Or you are trying to recreate that (excellent) system?

I have played to death both SSG, and TOAW (systems from a similar vintage), and I still find Atomic Games' system to be the superior one, tbh.
