When no air missions are flown in a turn and the Air Losses results show X and the Event Log shows Y destroyed in training missions, what makes up the difference? In this case the number is 46. Even when factoring in the possibility that in the course of an aircraft upgrade or swap, all damaged aircraft are lost, the numbers still don't quite add up. And there are no aircraft scrapped in this early game turn.

The losses in logistics are a lot more than just training - and the damaged getting destroyed is a lot more than damages from swaps.

Virtually all airgroups (swapped or not) will lose aircraft particularly if they start the turn with more of them damaged. If their air leader has a low admin rating, or the support or supply is insufficient on the airbase you will lose more. So these 46 will be the normal loses on the ground from lack of support/maintenance/accidents etc.

It may be worth checking the mark for Soviet logistics turn only to see the difference in the results screen. Other actions like partisan supply take place in the logistics phase and any losses from that (e.g. flak) will also be included in the 46.

I think you are not bombing his airfields enough. Just saying.

M60 is methodical. There is a rhythm and reason for everything he does. So, he will get to the bombing soon enough. But I can tell you turn 4 there was no bombing what-so-ever. To be honest there is a quality to not bombing like mad at the beginning and I'm sure he will show that fruition soon enough. Unless of course, I prevent the bombing on my airfields ;-P. As for units, go ahead and bomb all you want. They are great target practice.

This was just a test turn against nobody. Some of the reporting tools seem to be a little suspicious from time to time. In this case, the answer involved some pretty basic stuff shown in the manual that I had already forgotten.

I think these are write-offs from amongst damaged aircraft.
