Do I understand the first sentence right that to know the size the pool should have I have to add the two numbers?

At the beginning of turn 3 my pool is 158k (128k) so I only have half the numbers of trucks that would be required?

No you have 38K more than needed !!!

128k is truck needed.
158k is truck available.

sorry to interrupt your thread postfux, but I have always wonder
it is possible manually to increase the motorpool ?
or do you just to be carefull with moving stuff around

Thanks Stelteck, that does make sense. I think the manual is a bit misleading on this.

Fritzfarlig, I dont know a method to manualy increase the pool. I guess production and captured vehicles do fill it up but I havent looked into production yet.

What I do is tactical moving only what is necessary and doing everything possible with rail. Especially reinforcements and higher HQs are only moved by rail.

Keeping corps HQ as close to the railheads as possible also reduces pool attrition in the supply phase.

You can increase the numnber of vehicules in the pool by reducing the TOE of vehicule hungry units.
Also an empty airfield need far less vehicules than an airfield with level bombers.

It is possible to change the TOE for vehicles separately ?
I think TOE applies to all material

No you change the TOE for everything at the same time. But vehicules in excess will then be returned to the pool.

You may set units to static mode so they will send most of their vehicles to pool but lose most of their movement points. May be of use for rearguard units.
Having many units sitting in unfavorable terrain like swamps should also increase vehicle use/losses during resupply
