Now it is.

Is tge A.I. btetter and the game more balanced? Playing against the AI I used to find it did stupid things, and it was balanced heavily in my favour.
Wish there w as some way to adjust the difficulty, as with many other games (like War in the Pacific)

Patch 1.03 did not address the AI deficiencies but the patch that we are currently working on does.
We are developing some more challenging AI characteristics for both the defense and offense, as well as some play balance tweaks for the scenarios.
For example, the AI did a piss-poor job of distributing AA guns in both BoB and BtR, which we fixed. Also, the AI use of available bomber assets was not optimal so we are trying to improve that as well.

One thing i started to look into was the tendancy for interceptors to launch from hundreds of miles away only to turn back before meeting the enemy. Not sure yet if this is such a bad thing because often enough they do bag some enemy bombers.

OK thanks. I will look out for the next patch to see how the AI has improved.
BTW in RL, there were many successful interceptions launched by the RAF Fighter Groups & Squadrons up to 100 miles away from where the action was. 12 Group especially (north of London and Southern Midlands) were very good at forming up into a 'Big Wing' then flying south to the Capital and even the Channel, and picking off lots of individual stragglers and damaged machines struggling to return home. However it is worth noting that even after a few minutes of 'high octane' combat, their fighters lacked the fuel to return back to their bases and so had to do emergency landings at other airfields all along the south coast and scrape for some fuel from the bemused irks! The irks would then charge the pilots exorbitant sums for even a few gallons to spare - they quickly grew very rich!
