Building any kind of airfield bigger than a helicopter pad looks to be all but impossible on Aogashima. Although a runway might occupy nearly all of some of the atolls in the South Pacific at least they were flat.

You can build a size 3 port, I just don't know where you would put it.

While at Phuket we went on a boat tour around the Marine Sanctuary islands. Stopped at two of them where we got into small boats and went via cave into the centre of the island which had a small lagoon. Those were coral/limestone islands which are notoriously riddled with caves, but Aogashima seems to be volcanic, which would mean harder rock. But volcanoes do create lava tubes so if one runs all the way to the sea, the port could be in the mini-cone in the middle of Aogashima!

With volcano activation, Aogashima creates its own ARDs.

I like this thread!! Nicely done. So fascinating to see all of these places, and I've done a bit of searching over the years myself.

This is Brunei. Flew through once and stayed the night on a missed connection. Odd place.

They are laying down the smoke screen in the background. Must be B-24s on a raid from Australia.

That is a nice layout for a waterworld community.
