Why can the Allies move from the South Atlantic to Red Sea bu not vice-versa?

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Why can the Allies move from the South Atlantic to the Red Sea, but not vice-versa? Same for the Persian Gulf. There are no transit boxes to the South Atlantic from either the Red Sea or Persian Gulf.

Damned good question.

I can double check with Bill but after looking at the map I would hazard a guess of priority between either the North Atlantic or South Atlantic, and having to choose one or the other, as space is a bit limited to have both options and if you also want to provide the chance for maneuverability in either of those areas.

I assumed something like that, but would be nice to have at least a few hexes which point the other way

Yes, there's just not room to have loops going to both locations, and most of the time one would want to go to the north, e.g. to head to the UK to carry out repairs.
