How was it? How did I miss it; it's so very old now. It wasn't in my collection till yesterday. Wondering now if I should put some time into it.

D-Day boardgame and Guadacanal were always my favorites of the Avalon Hill company games next to Squad Leader of course.

It's f'n awesome, you won't regret putting time into it, and you will most likely get pissed off at all of your other games.

browser game for those who wish to try it

http://www.myabandonware.com/game/d-day-america-invades-251/play-251

it's a good game, just poor choice imo of a title, as the US weren't on there own on DDay

and tbh i don't also like the words British, as most were commonwealth units / troops etc, so not only British either.

so calling it D-Day America Invades or anything other than the Allies invade imo would be more correct, but yes as it covers only a given sector etc, it maybe right and correct, but still odd all the same...

like many browser games i still play, which is quite a high amount, as many can be also downloaded and played in dosbox etc and on almost any hardware, i'm never far from some really good and now free games

Meh. I enjoyed the 'V for Victory' series which included "Gold/Juno/Sword". Nary an American anywhere on the map. Hey, it's not like the British, Canadians and Free French (mostly commandos) were on their own!

I might check this out.

Seriously that good eh? I'll have to check it out. Wish it were more of a campaign to Berlin than just scenarios though.

Hey, do you remember the C64 one Operation Crusade with Ike on the box cover and Patton comes out on a stage as the text scrolls about the game?

Seems most of the great games were made years ago.
