October 1938

The Czech people decided to join the Greater Reich. The Czech coal mines will be useful for our defensive build up.

Italy: More Fiat G.50´s join the Regia Aeronatica, while the new L6/40 tanks also roll out of the production lines

Japan: After the operations in Hainan are finished, the Heavy Warships of the Imperial Navy turn their attention to Hangchow. The city is reduced to ruins, but these ruins are still guarded by thousands of Chinese soldiers
In the North Front, a Japanese offensive was stopped by Chinese hagtag militias, despite our massive superirity in artillery, aircraft and tanks. More than 13.000 Japanese soldiers were killed or captured by the enemy. The loss of 60 of the Type 95 light tanks is very worrying to the Japanese High command. The Japanese commander commited suicide in the battlefield.

-Germany is currently occupied with the pill.... I mean economic development of Czechkoslovakia.

-The Duce is so enthusiastic with the new L6/40 that he ordered an armoured division to be created with these tanks. Some advisors tried to explain him that this tank is slightly better than a tankette, but he didn´t pay attention to them.

-Japan is back to the somewhat ineffective but less risky business of killing the Chinese with artillery and aircraft

We still have very little information on the German and Italian force distribution. This means we speculate endlessly.

Hangchow is taking a horrible pounding.

Everyone is awaiting what the labs have produced in technology.

Hangchow was blasted by IJN surface bombardment.

Some nations built factories, some did not.

Italian Forces expansion was halted by a shortage in supplies

Germany builds a chemical factory

Japan is running out of fuel due to the intensive use of its battleships. The bombardment of enemy units by artillery and aircraft is giving disappointing results. A chemical factory was built in the Home Islands, it will hopefully alleviate our fuel shortages.

Rearmament is the policy across all borders, but will it prevent or encourage warfare.

So far there has not been any European war, but can Peace hold?

The peaceful landscape is marred by continuing war in China.

China is trying to get Rifle1 rather than conscript, but so very few can be produced. The ratio is about 3-1 or 4-1, so conscripts are necessary.

Japan is using a lossless tactic, bombarding rather than trading their more valuable troops for our conscripts.

Austria decided to join the community of Germany speaking nations.
Hitler: Maybe we will be able to conquer all the world with diplomatic maneuvers, are you sure we must buy so many tanks?
Goebbels: My Füeher, I fear you didn´t read the game rules....
Hitler: Well.....

Italy is too busy by improving its economy and inviting nations to join the new Roman Empire.

Japan finally made a land attack in China, results were deemed good and no official commited suicide, so these are good news.
Nakajima presented its new fighter, the Ki-43, it´s said to be superior to the Bf-109D. An order of 500 aircraft was placed.

Hungary joined Germany, Regent Horthy resigned and was offered a position in the Kriegsmarine. "I miss the sea", said the old Admiral "Ruling a landlocked country is not funny". He is deeply impressed by the new Battlecruisers put under his command.

Italy developed a heavy Tank, said to be a license built copy of the Soviet T-28.

Japan killed a few thousand conscripts but gained no ground. The first Ki-43´s arrive to China, tey will allow the Japanese bombers to strike deep in Chinese territory.

Things are quiet, "too quiet", as some would say. The Axis powers have complained for years, and have rearmed, but are not actively at war except for the ongoing war in China. Perhaps they do not want the United States to start thinking of international involvement.

We have heard rumors about September 1939. We have little information but evidently the German military thinkers have given political leadership that date as one where readiness will be adequate.

Germany is starting to reorganize its Army to make reinforcements easier. The same will be done with their allies forces.
A pause in diplomatics activity also will gave us much needed resources and time to organize the exploit... I mean, the management of the economy of our new acquired lands.

The Rumanian government also understood the economic and military benefits of joining the Greater Fascist Co-prosperity sphere and signed an alliance with Italy. The Italian armed forces are going to receive more advanced tank models in the next months as the M11/39 will enter production. On the bad news, the Bolsheviks took power in Bulgaria and the country now is a Soviet satellite.

The Japanese Army is becoming more proficient at killing Chinese, but, still, no territory was gained. Fuel is still a limiting factor to military operations, and a recent attempt to signed an alliance with Netherlands failed due to British pressure.

The USSR has encouraged Bulgarian troops to join the defenders of the Motherland. Currently police forces are present in Bulgaria to maintain order. Military units have moved out.

France reinforces border troops as German and Italian troops are all about.

Great Britain has reorganized the Belgian forces which joined an unrestricted alliance with Britain and France. British, Indian and Australian forces are guarding the oil resources of the Indies. Rumors of Japanese interest abound.

American submarines paid a port call at La Coruna and noticed nothing out of the ordinary in the Italian military there.

China is unhappy with the losses caused by Japan, and is calling up a new class of conscripts.

Hitler is pretty sure the alliances bewteen the so called western democracies are directed against Germany, the Army was placed in high alert.

Italy is reorganizing the Balkan Armies so they can achieve the (extremely high) standards of the Italian Army

Japan had less success this month
