Those 2 CVs and 45 DDs will be missed at this point of the war. these loses bodes well for an extended Japanese offensive into mid-late 43.

SRA:

Our navy is getting better and better in fending off enemy subs:

ASW attack near Singkawang at 56,88

Japanese Ships
DMS W-20

Allied Ships
SS KXVI, hits 5

SS KXVI is sighted by escort
KXVI bottoming out ....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ASW attack near Palembang at 48,91

Japanese Ships
DD Akatsuki

Allied Ships
SS KXIII, hits 11

SS KXIII is sighted by escort

In the same time our troops are landing in Balikpapan. DA is not on the menue just yet because we’ll wait for our troops to gain significant strength AND for enemy to lose much of his due to our air attacks. We can’t afford another Palembang...

MALAYAN THEATER:

As we are moving towards Singapore, parts of our units are scattered all across the SRA - this is the problem because if we can’t form divisions from those splinters, we’ll take horrible losses from crossing the river into Singapore. This is also the reason why are we waiting for loads of heavy artillery bought from Manchukao - hope it will make initial shock less costly...

CHINA:

As clearing of terrain around Nanchang continues, we ended up in tie battle with a single Chinese corps - 2:1 was only 2 points away. We’ll have to call for the cavalry on this one:

Ground combat at 87,54 (near Anking)

Japanese Deliberate attack

Attacking force 11536 troops, 102 guns, 42 vehicles, Assault Value = 407

Defending force 4708 troops, 43 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 180

Japanese adjusted assault: 179

Allied adjusted defense: 91

Japanese assault odds: 1 to 1

Combat modifiers
Defender: terrain(+), op mode(-), leaders(+), experience(-)
Attacker: leaders(+), leaders(-)

Japanese ground losses:
456 casualties reported
Squads: 2 destroyed, 37 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 5 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 3 disabled

Allied ground losses:
156 casualties reported
Squads: 0 destroyed, 18 disabled
Non Combat: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled
Engineers: 0 destroyed, 0 disabled

Assaulting units:
22nd Division

Defending units:
50th Chinese Corps

9.1.1942 MANILA FALLS!

CENT.PAC. AREA

Japanese Ships
AO Kokuyo Maru
AO Kyokuto Maru
DD Akebono

Allied Ships
SS Trout

SS Trout launches 6 torpedoes at AO Kokuyo Maru
Trout diving deep ....
DD Akebono attacking submerged sub ....
DD Akebono fails to find sub, continues to search...
DD Akebono fails to find sub, continues to search...
DD Akebono fails to find sub, continues to search...

That's correct and it's most obvious in submarine warfare. I've already trained CV bomber crews to proficient levels of ASW so my CVs have become mobile ASW platforms. On the other hand, almost none of convoys faring from the West Coast to Australia or Hawaii travels with any escorts so are easy pickings for my subs. I think AV is a real prospect in 1.1.1943 looking at our present situation. Mind you, I'm more than 2 months of game time behind with my AAR since we are flipping 2-3 turns a day and time is scarce...

10.1.1942 SHIP GRAVEYARD OF BATAVIA

Day after our major successes in various battlefields,, our forces are consolidating their gains and preparing for further advances.

HOME ISLANDS

All major ports are mined and covered with ACMs, training groups are re-sized to 27 whenever it’s possible and forts raised to 3 or 4, depending on amount of industry in the city.

CENT.PAC. AREA

Kwajalein is totaly depleted of supply and fuel so a major resupply effort is taken from Truk and HI. This will slow down our naval operations in the area for a bit. Midway is OK for now, base force is being landed in and SNLF is taken away. Forts will be built up first and than port to at least 3...

PI AREA:

Manila industry is in good shape with only 3 points of damage to LI. Air operations against Bataan have commenced with almost daily bombing of airfield. BBs and AKEs have almost reached Batangas from where they will conduct daily bombardment operations. Supply situation is excellent, with over 140.000 supply in Luzon alone. Mopping up of Mindanao is about to take place in few days.

SRA:

Demining of Balikpapan is complete so shipping will be brought in. Air defense was done by Zeros and Oscars from Miri but AF forces and AAA is on the way. Combination of Palembang and Balikpapan means Java will be under constant pressure from air and sea.

MALAYAN THEATER:

Only day after our air force has closed Batavia airfield, it is back again but this time against the port, packed with ships!

2)Lanchow - Sining - Urumchi
3)Changcha triangle
4)Wengchow - Kweiyang axis

This should push Chinese to tiny area in Central Plains with A LOT of troops to feed and not enough supply to pass around. Once our blitzkrieg passes though Burma, things will look even worse for Chinese war effort...
