Overrun

Post by TeaLeaf »

If the German stack in the flyout starts moving and overrun the partisan in Holland -shouldn't they stay organised?

If I pick up the stack and do the overrun they end up disorganised in the hex after destroying the partisan.

What's the weather? That's the only thing I can think about. Rain means double movement costs...

The weather is fine. We can see that on the main form.
I thought I knew how to play this game....

Strange. I can't reproduce this bug, using your gamesave.

Yeah, it keeps doing it to me though.
Difference of Version, perhaps? Mine is 2.3.5,10,0.

Otherwise, I pick up both units and drop them onto the partisan in the Netherlands. After the little overrun clip, both units are DGed and the partisan is destroyed.

The rule states:
Units overrunning enemy land units pay double the normal terrain cost to enter the hex being overrun (after weather effects). Turn them face-down if they exceed their movement allowance.

So the total cost would be 4 and they shouldn't be disorganized. Maybe the code (by mistake) doubles every hex cost, making it 2+2+2=6 and that would make both units disorganized?

I used 2.4.3 to check.

Did you try CTRL-left clicking the path to the partisan? If you just "drop" them on top maybe the program selects something inefficient for the route to get there, expending 4 MPs prior to the overrun?

Just tried to CTRL-click and indeed there was no more DG. Seems you got it right Paul!

there should be a heuristic for choosing the path of least movement cost. breadth first seem appropriate here.
