Wrong eqp file problem

Post by SMK-at-work »

My opponent and I are at T107 of an FITE game (Rons mod 1.1.10), and suddenly I'm getting the dreaded wrong eqp file error.

Neither of us have made any changes - we've checked our graphics to ensure they conform with the required structure (see tm.asp?m=2578940) - does anyone know of any odd changes that have happened lately? And how would they affect us anyway since I haven' downloaded anything?? :puz:

Could it be something built into the scenario that is giving us the error - some mismatch in equipment that becomes available on turn 107 or something like that??

it'd be a bloody shame to give up now

Is this in TOAW III or TOAW IV?

1. It could be bit-rot. Have him resend the turn - preferably zipped.

2. Both check to see if older turns are still OK. If not, one of you may have mucked up the equipment file somehow after all.

Sounds like your equipment file really is mucked up. If you know which equipment items were edited in the original, check to see if they are still so edited.

Got my opponent's eqp file and still doesn't work - in either (orr both!) graphics and alt graphics folders :(

Soo... does someone have a link I can download it from?? Google doesn't seem to know where it is!! :(

Is just the default eqp file? I don´t have that mod.

As I recall, you can still play. It doesn't prevent you from playing, does it ?

Yes it does prevent play - It tosses you straight back to the game selection screen :(

If I remember correctly you can still play against Elmer with the wrong .eqp file, but it's something of a show stopper for a PBEM game.

Ah, ok. No go for Pbem as Nemo says. I can't imagine why, after 106 turns, you would get this error, and on two different systems at two different locations. If you send me the scenario files that you are using I can take a look to see if I see anything. Click my name at left to get my e-mail address. What version of TOAW are you both using?
