2.4.3 Is this move legal?

Post by rkr1958 »

1. During the US deploy units phase, the US deploys the F4F-4 CVP to San Diego and not loaded onto any aircraft carrier.

2. During the remove air units phase, the US removes the TBD air unit on board the Yorktown.

3. The US player is then able to right click on the F4F-4 air unit and load it on the Yorktown during the remove air unit phase.

Is this legal?

I don't think that's legal, the US should have to wait for their next impulse air rebase phase and can do it without mission cost then.

That's my interpretation as well.

Thanks guy! Saved game then if one wants to reproduce this "minor" rules violation.

I don't think this is a bug.

MWIF divides up the Reinforcement phase into subphases, but the WIFFE rules aren't that strict. The important sequence is to not get a pilot for removing an air unit and then assign the pilot to a newly arriving air unit. That MWIF enforces.

But placing carrier air units on carriers happens during the 'Phase'. Mandating it to occur before removing unwanted carrier air units from their carriers (and the map) seems to me to be unduly strict. After all, the newly arrived air unit was able to stack in the hex.

But maybe I am just being lazy and reluctant to change this code.[:D]

TReinforceSubPhase = (
RspAnnualAdds, // RAC 4.1.1 & 4.1.2.
RspScrap, // RAC 4.1.3.
RspReplacements, // RAC 4.1.4.
RspAirReserve, // RAC 14.6.1.
RspPlaceUnits, // RAC 4.2.
RspRemoveAir, // RAC 14.6.1.
RspDone, RspWait);

RAW:

CVPiF/SiF option 56: You can place a reinforcement carrier plane
directly onto a CV in an eligible port city if the CV can
accommodate it.

Sorry Steve. This is not allowed, since there is already a plane on the carrier and the new one cannot be added to the carrier, due to it's class...
