i think maps like Yamato Damashii a.k.a. JATM are very awesome visually.

My question is when you play with it, you feel you miss too much information about the terrain that negatively affects the ground combat?

Yes, I think so. Not using JATM mods since not enough terrain info. There is a hotkey to show terrain type indicators but I prefer "direct" visual clues. I'm a big fan of Chemkid's topomap mod, but the terrain of a hex is not always readily discernible. I have moved to the Pacifica Bellum map, IMO it combines real-life topo features with game terrain almost perfectly.
It is important not to get caught by LBA in a hex with open terrain and without effective CAP.

I have had the same reservations about modded maps. Tried a few but didn't care for the lack of visual clues to terrain type.

Haven't looked at the Pacifica Bellum map. Will do so now. Thanks for the heads up LST.

This is not a problem.

Hot Key 1 toggles terrain text for every hex on the map.

Pacifica Bellum Map mod

I just finished the India map a few minutes ago. Painting the roads and rails by hand.
Iam 85% done with the entire map and hope to have it ready before the end of the month.

Not a problem for you maybe, but still one for me.

I don't want that white text turned on all the time.

I had the same reservations at first, but it turn out you memorize terrain in key hexes quite quickly since land war is not particularly fast paced. I toggle terrain key once in a while. Same frequency as road key.
