Just a question concerning time zone. The Matrix site uses which time zone?

11:14 AM: Central Europe time, Germany and neighbours east and west, except British Isles and Portugal?

GMT +1 (or GMT + 2 aka summer time)

NO wait!

I hadn't noticed that! When you are not logged (as a visitor) you see the time of the site. Based in London, British Isles perhaps? 10:33 AM

When you are logged you see your own time zone though, in my case the central Europe time zone: 11:33 AM [8D]

Is this correct?

It depends on what his set on your forum profile.
There's a time adjustment option. If you set for 0 it will be GMT.

I have just checked, thank you. At the bottom of my profile: "Time Adjustment (in hour)".

Either I manually chose it in when I joined in 2004 (I can't remember if I ever did that) or did not pay attention and the system automatically detected the time zone for me.

If I well understood, Zap in Las Vegas should choose GMT -7.

Its a tricky question because the UK office is currently on BST, the office in Italy is 1 hour ahead, Portugal are in line with UK, Romania is 2 hours ahead, France 1 hour ahead. Canada varies from 5 hours behind to 8 hours behind and US is 5-7 hours behind. Argentina I forget! That's just the internal full time staff, so not counting contractors and developer partners. There are people all over the world :)

I think Paulus gave me the right answer. GMT time zone. Because your server is based in New York? When I registered here I put in Pacific Time Zone.

Which server are you referring, Zap? The Matrix forum server?
Or were you referring to Matrix staff forum responses?

I was referring to where you physically have your server set up. I'm probably confused on how the thing (server) is set up.

Geographically speaking, I think that the server is located in Colorado(US).

So the forum is set for GMT 0. I was thinking with an uniformed Idea of how the server works. I was imagining the physical location was also Matrix headquarters in New York. And the server was in house. Thanks for clarifying for this uniformed member[:)]

AS I understand it, Matrix is now an international conglomerate (bent on world domination, as is required by international conglomeration laws, treaties and standards). So the actual location of the server does not matter as much as who has the nuclear codes.

The main web servers and core of PBEM are in Colorado but we have file servers set up in Europe, US and Canada (I think!). Purchase are delivered via Amazon Cloud. There are also other developer servers and routing servers in various locations for historical reasons. Valera is the only one who really understands its all!

They were in Vermont, but nowadays we are based in Epsom (UK), in the oldest building (The Hermitage) of the town:
