New scenario for testing: Frogfoot 1986

Post by stolypin »

This is a small scenario depicting a typical firefight in Afghanistan in 1986. The Soviet player uses Hinds and Frogfoots in an effort to fight off Mujahideen rebels assaulting a Soviet stronghold.

Reference points, what are they for? Is it safe to delete them?

Otherwise simple and nice to play.

Thanks. I'll delete the RPs in the next update. I was contemplating using them to form exclusion zones to limit the movement of Soviet armor but then decided against it. I must have failed to delete all of them.

The guys at the War Room say you have put a drone in there? Is that right? Cannot check it now myself even though I have had a look at the scenario previously and didn't see anything like that in there and now it's on another machine of mine.

They must be talking about a different scenario. This is 1986 using Soviet equipment so definitely no drones (unless I really screwed up somewhere).

The War Room guy IS talking about this one but there are no drones in it. That person must have spawned one in on his own and didn't clarify that.

Pretty sure Ukraine used one in Donbas a few years ago

Since entries in Wikipedia can be modified by virtually anybody I won't be holding my breath, but that is indeed an interesting issue. Never heard of or read about that, but as a matter of fact in terms of the aviation of the SAW I have been focusing on heliborne operations at best and not much further. Thanks for the tip though. Do I have to repeat I like those wargames best that I can learn from? Thanks a lot.

I've got a couple of books with them in it as well and the Wikipedia entry is a close match.

Anyways thanks for posting in.
